Abstract: An exhaust system is provided for a diesel engine, including an exhaust passage adapted to be attached to the diesel engine. A diesel oxidation catalyst is provided in the exhaust passage along with a selective catalyst reduction device disposed downstream from the diesel oxidation catalyst. A diesel exhaust fluid mixing system includes a diesel exhaust fluid injection nozzle and a mixing device defining a single inlet opening and a single outlet opening connected to one another by a partial spiral flow passage. The diesel exhaust fluid injection nozzle injects diesel exhaust fluid directly into the inlet opening of the partial spiral flow passage.
