摘要: An aftertreatment system for treating constituents of an exhaust gas includes: a housing defining a first internal volume and a second internal volume; an oxidation catalyst in the first internal volume and extending along a first axis, the oxidation catalyst configured to receive at least a portion of the exhaust gas via an inlet conduit fluidly coupled to the oxidation catalyst; a filter in the first internal volume and extending along a second axis parallel to and offset from the first axis, wherein an outlet of the filter is disposed within the second internal volume and configured to emit the exhaust gas into the second internal volume; at least one selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst in the second internal volume and extending along a third axis that is perpendicular to the first axis; and a decomposition tube in the second internal volume in a direction parallel to the third axis.

The system is configured to introduce controlled quantities of hydrogen gas into the exhaust gas stream upstream of a catalyst article during a cold-start period. Further provided are related methods of treating such exhaust streams. Such systems and methods are useful in reducing a level of one or more of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxide in a gaseous exhaust stream from a gasoline engine.

摘要: Controlling exhaust after-treatment in a heavy-duty motor vehicle includes operating a diesel engine of a heavy-duty truck such that the diesel engine generates an exhaust gas flow that enters an exhaust after-treatment system of the heavy-duty truck, the exhaust after-treatment system including a selective catalytic reduction system, measuring a level of NOx gases in the exhaust gas flow downstream of the selective catalytic reduction system, and controlling a diesel exhaust fluid injector upstream of the selective catalytic reduction system to inject diesel exhaust fluid into the exhaust gas flow upstream of the selective catalytic reduction system at an injection rate that is based on the measured level of NOx gases.

摘要: A diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) nozzle includes a first conduit, an outlet of the first conduit defining an inlet of a first mixing chamber; and a second conduit disposed around the first conduit, an outer surface of the first conduit and an inner surface of the second conduit defining a second flow path therebetween. A flow area of the second flow path decreases from an inlet of the second flow path to a throat, and increases from the throat to an outlet of the second flow path. The inner surface of the second conduit defines a peripheral wall of the first mixing chamber, and a peripheral wall of a second mixing chamber, the first flow path and the second flow path being in fluid communication with the second mixing chamber via the first mixing chamber.

摘要: An aftertreatment system comprises a housing defining a first and a second internal volume fluidly isolated from each other. A first aftertreatment leg extends from the first to the second internal volume and includes an oxidation catalyst and a filter. The oxidation catalyst receives exhaust gas from an inlet conduit and the filter emits exhaust gas into the second internal volume. A second aftertreatment leg extends from the second to the first internal volume and includes at least one SCR catalyst disposed offset from the first aftertreatment leg. A decomposition tube is disposed offset from the SCR catalyst and the oxidation catalyst. The decomposition tube is configured to receive the exhaust gas from the second internal volume and communicate it to the inlet of the at least one SCR catalyst. A reductant injection inlet is defined proximate to the inlet of the decomposition tube for reductant insertion.

The reductant supply system comprises a tank and a suction tube mounted at least partially in the tank for receiving reductant liquid from the tank. The filter arrangement comprises a restraining body, a filter at least partially forming a filter chamber, a filter outlet from the filter chamber formed through the restraining body and/or filter and a filter mount mounted to the restraining body and/or filter. The restraining body extends radially outwardly from the filter mount and is configured to restrain the filter such that, under the effect of buoyancy in the tank in use, gas in the filter chamber is directed towards the filter outlet.

摘要: A method for ascertaining an exhaust gas composition of an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine with regard to an ammonia fraction and a nitrogen oxides fraction in an exhaust gas system including an SCR catalytic converter. The method includes detecting, using a sensor, a first signal whose magnitude is a function of the nitrogen oxides fraction of the exhaust gas upstream from the SCR catalytic converter, detecting using a sensor a second signal whose magnitude is a function of the ammonia fraction and the nitrogen oxides fraction of the exhaust gas downstream from the SCR catalytic converter, storing the two signals over an observation period, and ascertaining the ammonia fraction and optionally the nitrogen oxides fraction of the exhaust gas downstream from the at least one SCR catalytic converter using a calculation rule that uses the two signals during the observation period as input variables.
