摘要: A system and method of locating a key fob with respect to a vehicle includes: communicating between a plurality of directional sensors used by the vehicle and a key fob via a short-range wireless signal; generating signal data at the plurality of directional sensors or the key fob indicative of one or more attributes of the short-range wireless signal; generating location information based on the one or more attributes by processing the signal data generated by the plurality of directional sensors or the key fob; and determining the location of the key fob relative to the vehicle based on the generated location information.

摘要: Systems and methods for compiling lists of prospective access points for offloading cellular data traffic for a vehicle, and for selecting an access point to establish a non-cellular wireless Internet connection. Vehicular data mobile access involves properties and characteristics different from those of portable user data devices, and thus exhibit different criteria for cellular data offloading. Embodiments of the invention provide vehicle metrics to be used in conjunction with data requirement metrics in compiling the access lists and making the optimum selections based on the vehicle's predicted route. A predictive look-ahead is also provided, for use when predictive routing information is not available or is unreliable.

摘要: A mobile vehicle communications system and a method of determining the legitimacy of a wireless sensor signal received by an electronic control unit (ECU) in a vehicle. The method includes the steps of: receiving at the electronic control unit (ECU) a first wireless signal identified as being from a first vehicle sensor; performing a correlation procedure at the ECU using the first wireless signal; and based on the correlation procedure, determining whether the first wireless signal is a legitimate signal sent by the first vehicle sensor.
