Abstract: Embodiments are provided for managing the operation of sensors in an electronic device. According to certain aspects, the electronic device may detect a change in motion from an initial set of sensor data generated by a sensor(s). A memory cache may store the initial set of sensor data or additional sensor data generated by the sensor(s). The electronic device may initiate a supplemental algorithm that analyzes the cached data. Based on the analysis of the cached data and whether the change in motion is confirmed or whether additional motion is detected, the electronic device may manage the operation of the supplemental algorithm.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described that implement a radar application programming interface. The radar application programming interface provides a standardized language for external entities, such as an application a smart device, to communicate with a radar system without having to understand the design and operational complexities employed by the radar system. With the radar application programming interface, a third-party can readily interact with the radar system and customize use the radar system for a variety of different applications. In this way, the radar application programming interface can enable other entities to expand the utilization of the radar system, thereby providing additional features to enhance user experience.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for managing the operation of sensors in an electronic device. According to certain aspects, the electronic device may detect a change in motion from a set of lower-sensitivity sensor data generated by a sensor(s) operating in a lower-sensitivity mode. When the change in motion is detected and during a timeout window, the sensor(s) may generate an additional set of lower-sensitivity sensor data and a set of higher-sensitivity sensor data. The electronic device may initially confirm the change in motion based on analyzing the set of higher-sensitivity sensor data. Further, the electronic device may determine that the additional set of lower-sensitivity does not indicate an additional change in motion, and may deem the confirmation of the change in motion as a false positive.

Abstract: The present document describes techniques associated with right-to-repair battery-replacement methodologies and applications thereof. These techniques include detecting a replacement battery in an electronic device (a new battery or the same battery reinstalled), authenticating the replacement battery, and monitoring battery characterization and health of the replacement battery. Using these techniques fulfills sustainability and right-to-repair options, aligning with customer rights and government regulations. Further, these techniques enable replacement of an embedded battery in a user's device and detection that the replacement battery was installed and is safe for use by the device. A battery health monitor may be implemented on the device to monitor the health of the replacement battery. In some aspects, the battery health monitor may be a subscription-based service implemented via an application executed on the device or via a system-level application.

Abstract: The present document describes battery zero-voltage (0V) detection methodologies and applications thereof. These techniques detect the occurrence of the 0V condition and enable the device to continue operation after one 0V condition. These techniques may, however, shut down the device after detecting a second occurrence of the 0V condition of the battery. In an aspect, a combination of hardware and software is used at a system side of a device, when the device is connected to an external power source, to detect a 0V condition and/or distinguish the 0V condition from an undervoltage-protection (UVP) condition.
