Abstract: Pump apparatus embodying a flexible conduit which is collapsed to effect a pumping action. In one embodiment the flexible pumping conduit forms a priming mechanism for a centrifugal pump and the actuating member for collapsing the conduit is connected to the pump shaft by a drive coupling which prevents operation of the mechanism when the pump is primed. In another embodiment the actuating member is connected to a shaft by a spiral spring which permits the member to shift radially with respect to the shaft.
