摘要: A mold opening and closing mechanism includes an aligning mechanism which has a horizontal mounting plate including a number of vertical openings for the number of molds, that is supported by a pair of spaced vertical uprights secured to the section frame top surface. A plurality of aligning cylinders are located in the vertical openings in the horizontal mounting plate and move parallel with the mold holder motion. Each cylinder includes surfaces configured to mate with the clamping surfaces of the mold holders. The axis of one of the aligning cylinders is held but not clamped at the theoretical centerline so it can move to the actual centerline when the mold holders are located at the advanced clamped closed position. A position transducer is mounted parallel with the mold holder motion to sense movement of the axis of one of the aligning cylinders and a computer receiving positional data from the transducer compares the theoretical centerline with the actual centerline determined from the data and defines a displacement offset for the displacement program to align the mold holders to the theoretical centerline.

摘要: A mechanism for delivering a cooling fluid to the interior of a formed bottle has a a lower guide arm and an upper cooling tube assembly secured on a vertical post. The upper cooling tube assembly has a plenum chamber having a bottom wall and at least one vertical cooling tube is mounted on its bottom wall. The lower guide arm includes a vertical through hole for receiving each of the cooling tubes. The upper cooling tube assembly is vertically displaceable on the post relative to the lower guide arm assembly via a drive which includes a lead screw/drive nut located within the post.

摘要: A mold opening and closing mechanism for an I.S. machine having a plurality of individual sections. A pair of opposed mold holding mechanisms is supported on top of the section frame for linear displacement between a separated retracted position whereat each mold support mechanism is located at a start position and an advanced position whereat molds held by the mold support mechanisms will forcefully engage. A mold holding mechanism is secured to the free ends of a pair of round shafts which are slidably supported within horizontally separated bearings in a housing supported on the section frame and extending vertically upwardly.

摘要: A pusher system for transferring formed glass bottles from a plurality of deadplates which are part of an I.S. machine to a common conveyor. A discrete pusher is associated with each dead plate and can transfer the bottles on that dead plate to either of two spaced lines along the conveyor thereby enabling a multiplicity of bottle rows to increase conveyor capacity.

摘要: An I.S. machine has a plurality of individual sections arranged in side by side relation. Each section has a blank station for forming a parison from a gob of molten glass, and a blow station for forming a parison into a bottle. An invert and neck ring holder mechanism is located between these stations for transferring a parison between from one station to the other. Each station has a mold opening and closing mechanism which has a pair of opposed mold support mechanisms supported for linear displacement between a retracted position and an advanced position. Each mold support mechanism is supported by a first shaft on one side of the center of the mold opening and closing mechanism, proximate the invert and neck ring holder mechanism, extending perpendicularly to the engagement plane, and by a second shaft on the other side of the center of the mold opening and closing mechanism, remote from the invert and neck ring holder mechanism, extending perpendicularly to the engagement plane. The second shaft is second interconnected with the mold support mechanism enabling relative motion between the mold support mechanism and the second shaft in the parison transfer direction so that expansion of the mold support mechanism will take place in the transfer direction away from the invert and neck ring holder mechanism.

摘要: A pusher mechanism for transferring a selected number of containers from a dead plate of an I.S. machine to a conveyor. The mechanism has a finger assembly including a back support portion and a finger portion, with the back support portion and the finger portion defining a pocket having a corner at their juncture. The finger portion has an air jet with the center line thereof making an acute angle with the finger portion and selectively located so that a bottle placed on the deadplate within the pocket will be located on the side of the center line remote from the corner of the pocket, and the back support portion is selectively inclined to the finger portion to substantially prevent the bouncing of a bottle, drawn into the pocket by the air jet, off the finger portion in the direction of the air jet.
