Abstract: A method of providing a first set of computer systems with access to a recommendation pertaining to operation of one or more assets based on the one or more assets being in revenue service or in repair is disclosed. Operations data and inspection data is collected at the first set of computer systems. The operations data and inspection data pertains to operating asset states of one or more fleets of aircraft over a time period. The operations data and the inspection data is stored in one or more databases of a second set of computer systems. Assumptions of control input values are derived for use by the first set of computer systems based on the operations data and the inspection data. A financial objective and constraints analysis is performed with a simulation system for one or more assets of the one or more fleets of aircraft. The cost savings analysis includes identifying a modification of at least one of a set of the control input values. An estimated reduction of forecast error related to operating and service costs is computed for the one or more assets over one or more time periods. The identifying is based on comparisons of a first subset of the operations data and the inspection data with a second subset of the operations data and the inspection data The first set of computer systems is provided with access to the recommendation pertaining to operation of the one or more assets.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for monitoring, predicting and/or alerting for census periods in medical inpatient units are presented. A system can perform a first machine learning process to learn patterns in patient flow data related to a set of patient identities and a set of operations associated with a set of medical inpatient units. The system can also perform a second machine learning process to detect abnormalities associated with the patterns in the patient flow data. Furthermore, the system can determine patient census data associated with a prediction for a total number of patient identities in the set of medical inpatient units during a period of time based on the patterns and the abnormalities. The system can also generate an alert for a user interface in response to a determination that the patient census data satisfies a defined criterion.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to optimize stitch quality in additive manufacturing are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least one memory to store instructions, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to identify at least one keep-out zone of an object build area where stitching is to be reduced during additive manufacturing, determine a first set of stitch coordinates corresponding to a stitching region of the object, the stitching region including a stitch boundary of the stitching region, and generate a second set of stitch coordinates reducing stitching in the at least one keep-out zone of the object build area, the second set of stitch coordinates determined by using (1) a local search algorithm and/or (2) a random coordinate modification algorithm, the second set of stitch coordinates used to reduce the stitch length or support load balancing.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, system and methods are provided comprising receiving input including: coordinates of one or more regions to be fabricated on a build plate, a laser boundary for each of two or more lasers, wherein the lasers fabricate the one or more regions, and a processing time for each region; deriving a prioritized sequence of the one or more regions to be fabricated; determining, based on the received coordinates and received laser boundary, one or more potential lasers assignments for each region; determining, based on the determined potential laser assignments, the prioritized sequence of the one or more regions, and the processing time for each region, a laser-to-region sequence for the one or more lasers to fabricate the one or more regions; assigning the determined laser-to-region sequence to the one or more lasers for fabrication of the one or more regions. An example apparatus includes a health quantifier generator to execute a computer-generated model to simulate an operating condition of a turbine engine using asset monitoring information and generate an asset health quantifier of the turbine engine based on the simulation, and compare the asset health quantifier to a threshold, and a removal scheduler to identify the turbine engine for removal from service based on the comparison to improve an operation of the turbine engine by performing a workscope on the removed turbine engine.
