The base of the lamp of the invention has a base sleeve (110) comprised of an electrically insulating material and a mounting element (111) also comprised of an electrically insulating material, which bears lamp bulb (116) and which is joined with base sleeve (110). According to the invention, a metal part (121) is anchored in mounting element (111) and a metal ring (122) is anchored in base sleeve (110), whereby metal ring (122) is equipped with several shaped spring-type weld lugs (122), which are welded with metal part (121) anchored in mounting element (111).

The starting device has a transformer which has either two primary windings which are connected in parallel and are both coupled inductively to the at least one secondary winding, or instead has a primary winding which consists of a wide metal strip and is wound, separated by an electric insulation, over the at least one secondary winding. The starting device according to the invention has a compact design which permits the complete starting device to be accommodated in the lamp cap.

    摘要: The invention relates to a high-pressure discharge lamp with an outer bulb urrounding the discharge vessel, and to a process for producing a high-pressure discharge lamp. The outer bulb (1) comprises a glass that has a low viscosity and in particular a lower softening temperature than the quartz glass of the discharge vessel (2), and is melted directly onto the ends (5a, 5b) of the discharge vessel (2), which is sealed on both ends. As the glass for the outer bulb, a quartz glass doped with viscosity-lowering additives, in particular alkaline-earth metal borates, is used, while the discharge vessel comprises undoped quartz glass. In addition, the quartz glass of the outer bulb is preferably doped with rare earth metal additives that absorb UV radiation. To avoid projection errors, the axis of symmetry of the substantially rotationally symmetrical outer bulb (1) is shifted parallel relative to the path connecting the electrode heads by an amount that, for a horizontal lamp operating position, is defined by the convection-dictated curvature of the discharge arc.
