摘要： A mineral mining installation comprises a longwall conveyor, and a plurality of roof support units positioned side-by-side along the goaf side of the conveyor. The roof support units are positioned to define an access area between the conveyor and the roof support units. A plurality of hydraulic bracing rams act on the conveyor to brace the conveyor longitudinally. Each of the bracing rams is pivotally attached to a floor sill of a respective roof support unit. The hydraulic bracing rams are positioned at the goaf-side edge portion of the access area. The bracing forces are transmitted from the bracing rams to the conveyor via respective transverse arms attached to the bracing rams and to the conveyor.

摘要： Apparatus for controlling the position of a mineral winning machine, such as a plough, movable along a guide at the mineral face side of a scraper-chain conveyor employs a connector bracket at the goaf side of the conveyor to which a floor-engaging skid plate is pivotably linked. A beam extends from a roof support and is also pivotably connected to the skid plate remote from the conveyor. A pair of piston and cylinder units are pivotably connected at their upper ends to the bracket. One of the units is pivotably connected to the skid plate and the other is pivotably connected to the beam. By operating the units together the skid plate can be held against the floor over part or all of its lower face while the conveyor goaf side is raised or lowered accordingly.

摘要： An L-shaped device constituting a side or barrier plate for attachment to the side wall of the channel section or pan of a longwall scraper-chain conveyor has connectors at the end regions of a main plate-like body beneath a welded-on upper flange. The connectors have an interengageable projection and recess and possess bores extending parallel to the main plate for receiving fixing bolts. A row of non-circular shaped apertures is provided in the main body and is aligned with the connectors. The row of apertures receive bolts used to secure the device to the channel section or pan. A pair of upstanding webs is fixed to the main body beneath the flange and serve to receive a mounting pin for mounting a guide or shifting ram for example.

摘要： Apparatus is disclosed for controlling the position of a mineral mining machine such as a plough, movable along guide means such as a scraper-chain conveyor with a guide on one side. The apparatus employs piston and cylinder units coupled between the guide means and connecting devices pivoted to the guide means. A ball-and-socket joint is provided between each of the units and the associated connecting device.Elongate beams are interconnected at one end and are mounted via a head piece and a swivel joint to each connecting device. These beams are pivoted and guided at their other ends on roof support structures so that the units can operate to tilt the guide means about the pivot axes between the connecting devices and the guide means to thereby control the position of the machine.

摘要： To firmly connect an upper trough-like component of a scraper-chain conveyor to a lower component use is made of arch-like locking pieces which fit on a side plate of the lower component which overlaps the side wall of the upper component. The upper regions of the locking pieces having inwardly projecting noses which fit into apertures in the side plate and side wall. Sockets are formed in projections on the side plate to receive the heads of screw-threaded securing elements which locate in recesses in the locking pieces and project through holes in side walls thereof. The securing elements adopt an inclined disposition and when nuts are tightened on their shanks the locking pieces tend to force and hold the upper component down on the lower component.
