    Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the height of the upper fixing or guide fitting for the shoulder belt of a safety belt system, particularly in motor vehicles. The apparatus includes a guide rail mounted on part of the vehicle body, and has a guide slot and recesses in which at least one associated locking member engages. This locking member is mounted on a sliding member which carries the fixing or guide fitting and is capable of being locked in or released from the recesses via a handle. The locking member or locking members are symmetrical in construction with regard to their locking function, are mounted on the sliding member, and are operative in the guide rail, and especially are operative on both sides of the central longitudinal line of the guide rail. Moreover, the handle is designed, by a finger pressure construction, to be operated with substantially no force of the hand and arm, using one hand. The belt looping axis at the fixing or guide fitting is located outside, especially below, the zone in which the forces are transmitted along a plane, a line, or point-wise between the locking member or locking members and the guide rail when the apparatus is in the locked position.

    Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the height of the upper attachment or guide fitting for the shoulder belt of a safety belt system, particularly in motor vehicles.     Abstract: A safety belt arrangement, especially one having a lap belt as a constituent of the belt system. One end of the lap belt is connected to a part that is secured to the vehicle, and the other end of the lap belt is provided with a belt buckle part. An anchoring member is provided as a carrier for the other belt buckle part, with the ends of the lap belt, as well as the anchoring member, being connected with a tensioning mechanism that operates in opposite directions.     Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the height of the upper fixing or guide fitting for the shoulder belt of a safety belt system, particularly in motor vehicles.     Abstract: A safety belt system, especially for motor vehicles. The system includes a three-point safety belt, a self-locking belt reel-in mechanism mounted on a structural part of the vehicle, and a clamping mechanism for the belt strap of the safety belt. For automatic vertical adjustment of the clamping mechanism, an arrangement is provided which senses the position of the belt strap relative to at least one parameter of its functional connection with a strapped-in person, and which undertakes a comparison, with a fixed desired value, of the actual value of the belt strap position as determined relative to the at least one parameter to ascertain whether a deviation exists between the two values. The sensing and value-comparison arrangement initiates a vertical adjustment of the clamping mechanism when the ascertained deviation continuously exceeds a designated deviation between the desired value and the actual value.

The system has a three-point safety belt, a self-locking belt winding mechanism which is mounted on a structural part of the vehicle, and a clamping mechanism for the belt.
