摘要:
The invention pertains to a method for at least partially removing soluble divalent anions from an aqueous divalent anion-containing brine solution comprising a crystal growth inhibitor (CGI) for the divalent anion, the method comprising the process steps: obtaining a sodium chloride concentration between 100 g/L and saturation in the presence or absence of a CGI for sodium chloride or a sodium chloride concentration above saturation in the presence of a CGI for sodium chloride, and acidifying the solution to a pH below 11.5; subjecting the solution to a membrane filtration step thereby separating the brine solution into a brine stream being supersaturated for the divalent anion (concentrate), and a brine stream being undersaturated for the divalent anion (permeate); subjecting the supersaturated brine stream comprising the crystal growth inhibitor for the divalent anion to a crystallization process, removing crystallized divalent anion; and optionally, recycling the overflow of the crystallizer to the brine solution for subjecting it again to the membrane filtration step.

The invention relates to an evaporative crystallisation process to make salt compositions which includes a step wherein a mother liquor containing an effective amount of a crystal growth comprising at least one saccharide or saccharide derivative is formed, to form high-purity salt. The salt can be washed with a reduced amount of washing water while still containing lower amounts of K, Br, SO4 and/or Ca. The high-purity salt can be obtained after drying of the salt crystals formed. A wet salt can be obtained by partially drying said salt crystals.
摘要:
The present invention pertains to a process to make salt compositions comprising the steps of feeding water to a salt source to form an aqueous solution comprising said salt, feeding said aqueous solution to a crystalliser/settler, contacting said aqueous solution with one or more antisolvents which force the salt to crystallise, with said antisolvents exhibiting crystal growth inhibiting properties and/or crystallisation and scale inhibiting properties, and/or where one or more crystal growth inhibitors are present either in the antisolvents or the aqueous solution and/or one or more scaling inhibitors are present either in the antisolvents or the aqueous solution, feeding an overflow of the crystalliser/settler comprising one or more antisolvents and an aqueous salt solution to a nanofiltration unit comprising a membrane to separate the one or more antisolvents from the aqueous salt solution, removing the crystallised salt in an aqueous slurry, optionally, recycling the one or more antisolvents to the crystalliser/settler, and optionally, recycling water from the slurry to the first dissolution step and/or to the crystalliser/settler. Preferably, the process is a closed loop process and the salt is sodium chloride. Preferably, the process further comprises a reverse osmosis step before the overflow of the crystalliser/settler is fed to a nanofiltration unit.
