摘要： A gas diffusion layer that is usable with a fuel cell includes a material that is adapted to permit a reactant of the fuel cell to diffuse through the material. The material includes flow channels for communicating the reactant so that at least a portion of the reactant diffuses through the material to a membrane of a fuel cell. The gas diffusion layer may be received by a recessed portion of a plate.

The front surface of the plate has a plurality of open gas distributions channels, a first portion of which is connected at one end to a first one of the plurality of gas delivery holes and at another end to a first one of the plurality of gas exhaust holes, a second portion of which is connected at one end to a second one of the plurality of gas delivery holes and at another end to a second one of the plurality of gas exhaust holes, and a third portion of which is connected at one end to said second one of the plurality of gas delivery holes and at another end to said first one of the plurality of gas exhaust holes.

The plug includes a base, a rim extending from the periphery of the base. The rim may cooperate with the aperture. The plug further includes a stem extending from the base and spaced from the rim, so that the rim may conform to the aperture and thereby seal the aperture without being affected by the handle.
