Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for updating a set of results. In some implementations, a search query associated with an entity reference is received. The entity reference corresponds to one or more distinct entities. A set of results for the search query is provided, and the set of results distinguishes between distinct entities. One or more attributes for at least one entity of the one or more distinct entities are identified based at least in part on the set of results. One or more additional search queries are identified based on the search query, the at least one entity, and the one or more attributes. An input selecting at least one of the additional search queries is received. An updated set of results is provided based on the selected additional search queries. The updated set of results comprises at least one result not in the set of results.
Abstract:
A method performed at a server system includes: receiving a request from a client device for an information page associated with an entity of an entity class; identifying historical user activity logged by the server system associated with users with respect to one or more of the entity and the entity class; identifying information and multiple information types associated with the entity; generating and formatting a structured information page structured according to the identified information types, where the identified information types include predefined information types and dynamically selected information types, and the dynamically selected information types are selected from a set of candidate information types in accordance with relative importance of the candidate information types as determined by the server system based on the historical user activity; populating the structured information page with the identified information; and transmitting the structured information page to the client device for display.
Abstract:
A trip destination for an individual may be determined. A set of contacts associated with the individual and the trip destination may be identified. A meeting location associated with the trip destination and one or more of the individual and a member of the set of contacts may be identified. A free time slot associated with the individual or a member of the set of contacts may be identified. A suggested calendar appointment associated with the individual, the free time slot, the location, and one or more members of the set of contacts may be provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus are described herein that include obtaining a respective ordered list of search result documents for each query in a plurality of queries. Non-overlap scores between search result documents within a first grouping in the ordered lists for a given query and remaining queries in the plurality of queries are then calculated. One or more remaining queries are then selected as candidate queries using the non-overlap scores. Overlap scores between search result documents within a second grouping in the ordered lists for the given query and the candidate queries are then calculated. One or more of the candidate queries are selected as related queries for the given query using the overlap scores. The related queries are then associated with the given query.
Abstract:
Methods for identifying social network users to display with an advertisement in response to a search query are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a search query from a user, the user having a user presence on a social network, and identifying at least one advertisement responsive to the search query, the at least one advertisement associated with an entity having a social presence on the social network. The method also includes identifying another user of the social network that has a mutual user connection with the user on the social network and has interacted with the social presence on the social network, and providing, for display and in response to the search query, the at least one advertisement responsive to the search query, an identification of the other user, and an indicator of the interaction of the other user. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.
