Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method includes receiving from a remote device a search query, generating a plurality of different category-directed result sets for the search query, determining an order for the plurality of category-directed result sets based on the search query, and transmitting the plurality of category-directed result sets to the remote device, in a manner that the result sets are to be displayed in the remote device in the determined order.

Abstract: A computing device may determine a haptic effect to be produced by a haptic device of the computing device. The computing device may select, based at least in part on the haptic effect, a modulation frequency. The computing device may determine a combination of a carrier frequency and the modulation frequency to produce the haptic effect. The computing device may drive the haptic device according to the combination of the carrier frequency and the modulation frequency to output a vibration pattern associated with the haptic effect.

Abstract: An example method includes initiating, by a computing device, a fingerprint sensing operation that is associated with a fingerprint sensor, outputting, by the computing device and over a defined period of time, a sequence of haptic signals with varying intensity, wherein each haptic signal in the sequence has an intensity that is different than a respective intensity of any haptic signal that was previously output in the sequence, obtaining, by the computing device and from the fingerprint sensor, fingerprint data associated with a fingerprint of the finger of the user, and responsive to determining that the finger of the user is still positioned at the fingerprint sensor upon completion of the fingerprint sensing operation, outputting, by the computing device, a discrete haptic signal indicating a successful completion of the fingerprint sensing operation.
