Abstract: A hand-held device for recording of living skin areas of human autopods and documents is disclosed. The device has an image acquisition module with a support surface and a holding unit for a display and an operating module. The holding unit contains a base frame and a folding frame, which are pivotably connected by a mechanical pivot joint. The image acquisition module is arranged in the base frame, with the support surface facing the folding frame, and the display and operating module can be arranged in the folding frame, with the display facing away from the base frame. In an opened state of the holding unit, the base frame and the folding frame enclose an angle of less than 90° and greater than 20° with each other. In a closed state of the holding unit, the image acquisition module can be covered by the display and operating module.

Abstract: A vaporization device includes biometric recognition systems. A vaporizer device is provided. The vaporizer device includes a vaporizer body comprising a cartridge receptacle, a heating element, a power source, and a sensor. The vaporizer device further includes a vaporizer cartridge that is selectively coupled to the vaporizer body, the vaporizer cartridge comprising one or more translucent surfaces and a passageway between the sensor and the one or more translucent surfaces. The vaporizer device further includes a controller configured to determine, based on data from the sensor, whether a user is authorized to use the vaporizer device. The controller further configured to provide power to the heating element to generate an aerosol responsive to determining the authorization of the user. Related methods and articles of manufacture are also described.

Abstract: A display module includes a cushion plate having a transmittance of 20% to 40% of light at a spectrum wavelength of 380 nm to 780 nm in an area thereof other than an area in which a through-hole is formed, such that a difference between transmittances in the area in which the through-hole is not formed and the area in which the through-hole is formed may be reduced as much as possible. Reducing the difference between the transmittances in the area in which the through-hole is not formed and the area in which the through-hole is formed as much as possible may allow reflected-light visibility in the area in which the through-hole is not formed and reflected-light visibility in the area in which the through-hole is formed to be realized in close to each other as much as possible, thereby minimizing low gray-level mura near the through-hole area.

Abstract: Electronic devices in a system may be controlled by a user. The user may have one or more wearable devices or other devices. A user's device may be used by the user in identifying a target electronic device of interest among the electronic devices in the system. The target electronic device may be identified using a gaze tracking sensor that senses the user's point-of-gaze, an orientation sensor that detects a direction in which the user's device is pointed, or other sensor circuitry. Visual feedback, audio feedback, and/or haptic feedback may be provided to the user to confirm which electronic device has been identified as a target electronic device of interest. User input may be gathered by sensors and used in adjusting operating parameters in the target electronic device of interest. Health monitoring operations and other operations may also be performed.

The mobile pointing apparatus includes a signal emitter for emitting an optical or electromagnetic signal, and the receiving arrangement associated with the device determines a pointing target of the mobile pointing apparatus relative to the device based on the signal emitted by the mobile pointing apparatus and triggers a function of the device based on the pointing target of the mobile pointing apparatus.

Abstract: There is provided a finger detection device including a light source, a light sensor and a processor. The light sensor respectively captures a first image frame and a second image frame corresponding to turning on and turning off the light source. The processor calculates a differential image frame of the first image frame and the second image frame, determines a covered region in the differential image frame and identifies whether the covered region is a finger region or not. If the covered region is not the finger region, the processor controls the light sensor to acquire new image frames. If the covered region is the finger region, the processor determines different windows of interest in the finger region.

Abstract: An electronic circuit includes a fingerprint sensing circuit that is configured to receive fingerprint sensing signals corresponding to a fingerprint image from fingerprint sensors via fingerprint sensing lines. The subset of fingerprint sensing lines is selected based on the at least one boundary of the fingerprint sensing zone. The fingerprint sensing circuit is further configured to generate the fingerprint image according to the fingerprint sensing signals by a remapping operation.
