摘要: A direct liquid fuel cell is provided, which can prevent a gas such as carbon dioxide generated by an anode of the fuel cell from adhering to an electrode. A DMFC that is a direct liquid fuel cell includes: an electrolyte membrane; an anode electrode provided on a surface of the electrolyte membrane; a cathode electrode provided on another surface of the electrolyte membrane; and a methanol fuel storage portion, provided to be adjacent to the anode electrode, for supplying a liquid fuel to the anode electrode. In the DMFC, the methanol fuel storage portion contains a solid particle.

摘要: A DMFC system which realizes appropriate temperature management on a methanol aqueous solution and on a DMFC with consideration given to the activity of methanol oxidation reaction between electrodes and suppression of degradation of solid polymer films. The fuel cell system according to the present invention comprises: a fuel cell which generates electric power by using liquid fuel; a fuel feed unit which feeds the liquid fuel to the fuel cell; an emission recovery unit which recovers emissions from the fuel cell; and a heat medium feed unit which feeds a heat medium for cooling the emissions to the emission recovery unit. Here, the heat medium cools the fuel cell.

摘要: Corrosion of a metal portion such as a pipe connected to a fuel cell stack is suppressed. The fuel cell stack has a plurality of single cells which generate electrical power using an aqueous methanol solution and air and are stacked in a vertical direction. An inlet of a fuel supply manifold for distributing the aqueous methanol solution to each cell and an outlet of a fuel discharge manifold for collecting the fuel discharged from the single cells are provided in a common conductive end plate. Hence, when the discharge fuel discharged from the fuel cell stack is circulated and resupplied to the stack, the potential of the discharged fuel becomes equal to that of the liquid fuel to be supplied to the stack, whereby the corrosion of the metal portion such as a pipe, a tank, a pump, or a heat exchanger is suppressed.

摘要: Corrosion of a metal portion such as a pipe connected to a fuel cell stack is suppressed. The fuel cell stack has a plurality of single cells which generate electrical power using an aqueous methanol solution and air and are stacked in a vertical direction. 摘要: A fuel cell system includes (1) a fuel containing unit having two containers containing a metal hydride, the two containers being disposed in thermal contact with each other, (2) a fuel cell disposed in thermal contact with one of the two containers, (3) a discharge regulating valve capable of switching between a suppressed state in which hydrogen discharge from the other of the two containers is suppressed and an open state in which the suppressed state is canceled, and (4) a control unit for controlling the discharge regulating valve so that the suppressed state is set when the temperature inside the other container is less than a predetermined temperature and the open state is set when the temperature inside the other container is greater than or equal to the predetermined temperature.
