摘要: In a planar-array cell structure, an area required by interconnectors is reduced and a fuel cell is made further compact. A connection part which connects adjacent cells in series is provided within a sealing member provided in a peripheral edge part of an electrolyte membrane where multiple cells are formed in a planar arrangement. For each cell, an anode terminal of a current collector is disposed counter to a cathode terminal of the current collector via the electrolyte membrane. The connection part penetrates the electrolyte membrane and connects the anode terminal of one of the adjacent cells to the cathode terminal of the other of the adjacent cells.

摘要: Composite members, a fuel cell and manufacturing method, where the composite members are mounted on a base and comprise a first insulator and a second insulator layered on either side of an interconnector, exposed in a chamfered portion on opposite corners. Between a pair of the composite members is formed an electrolyte film. An anode is formed so as to cover the anode surface of the electrolyte film and an anode-side protrusion. The anode formed at the top of anode-side protrusion is stripped, forming a flat exposed surface on the top of the anode-side protrusion. A cathode is formed so as to cover the cathode surface of the electrolyte film and a cathode-side protrusion. The cathode formed on the top of the cathode-side protrusion is stripped using a spatula, a blade, etc., forming a flat exposed surface on the top of the cathode-side protrusion.

摘要: A cartridge holder houses a fuel cartridge between a first flat plate and a second flat plate, one each side of which is connected by a joining section, in a detachable manner. A fuel cell module and a second fuel cell module are fixed to the outer surface of the first flat plate and the outer surface of the second flat plate, respectively. As the fuel cartridge is housed in the cartridge holder, the first flat plate and the second flat plate are pressed against and then attached firmly to the outer surfaces of the fuel cartridge.

摘要: A DMFC is provided in which the structure is simplified and the thickness is reduced without impairing diffusibility of fuel, air and generated products. An anode catalyst layer and a cathode catalyst layer sandwich an electrolyte membrane. Liquid fuel stored in a fuel chamber is directly supplied to the anode catalyst layer. Current collectors are respectively provided adjacent to the anode catalyst layer and the cathode catalyst layer. Each of the current collectors is formed of a flat conductive sheet in which a plurality of fine pores are provided to extend through the current collector in a direction substantially perpendicular to the planar direction.

摘要: A technology is provided for conveniently and easily supplying fuel to a fuel cell while restricting any degradation in the performance of the fuel cell. A fuel supply device for a fuel cell has an attachment unit to which a cellular phone with a DMFC is attachable and a fuel cartridge for storing fuel used in the DMFC. In the fuel supply device, when the DMFC is attached to the attachment unit, a pump sucks up the fuel from the fuel cartridge and supplies the fuel to a fuel storage unit. Also, supplying the fuel to the fuel storage unit pushes liquid waste out of the fuel storage unit to collect the liquid waste into a liquid waste cartridge.

摘要: A base as a support in a fuel cell is provided with a plurality of through holes. An electrolyte membrane covers the entirety of the base facing the anode and is partly embedded in the plurality of through holes. A cathode is embedded in the through holes such that each block is in an isolated area bounded by the base and the electrolyte membrane. A current collector is provided on the blocks of the cathode and on the base partitioning the cathode. The current collector is secured to the base by a securing member.
