The composition has been known as a decontaminant because the same efficiently decomposes DNA. It has now been possible to demonstrate that the agent has surprisingly good compatibility while having a wide-ranging disinfecting effect and is therefore also suitable for other purposes, e.g., for disinfecting or dressing wounds.

The agent according to the invention surprisingly shows nearly complete nucleic acid disintegration in addition to an improved disinfectant effect. The agent can be successfully used as a combined decontamination and disinfection agent for skin, mucous membranes, hands, wounds, and/or hair, and instruments and surfaces of all kinds.
