摘要: A method and an apparatus for providing radio access bearer services for different applications in a network having a core network and a radio access network through radio access bearers between the networks are presented. One or more session traffic flows being sent by an application are identified, the identified session is characterized in the form of parameters needed for the determination of the one or more radio access bearers. The characterized parameters are converted into radio access bearer attributes. One or more radio access bearers defined by the attributes are requested and established. Each session is mapped onto a correct radio access bearer established upon receiving the request. The one or more radio access bearers are released when no longer needed.

摘要: A fixed wireless terminal (29) comprises interfaces (32, 34) and a controller (40), e.g., a Generic Access Network Controller (GANC). The controller (40) is configured to interwork Generic Access Network (GAN) signaling employed between the mobile wireless terminal (29) and the fixed wireless terminal (30) with circuit switched signaling employed between the fixed wireless terminal and the radio access network (22). The interworking enables the controller (40) to provide a circuit switched mobile telephony core network service to the mobile wireless terminal (30).

摘要: The invention relates to a method in a communication node (10,200,201,202,211,212,222) for commonly managing resources in a radio access network between different network access technologies, which communication node (10,200,201,202,211,212,222) is comprised in a radio access network of a radio communications network. The communication node receives (71) from a first local resource manager (111) of a first network access technology, a first report of information regarding resources needed per service associated with the first network access technology, which service is associated with a first local service priority. The communication node (10,200,201,202,211,212,222) then receives (72) from a second local resource manager (112) of a second network access technology, a second report of information regarding resources needed per service associated with the second network access technology. The service is associated with a second local service priority. The communication node ranks the service priority in the first report in relation to the service priority in the second report. The communication node generates an allocation scheme of resources, which allocation scheme allocates resources to at least one of the first or second local resource managers (111,112) based on the ranking of the service priorities.

摘要: The present invention relates generally to the problem of determining the identity of a cell for e.g. cell handoff or automatic frequency planning, and more particularly to the problem of determining the true identity of a cell when only the transmission frequency and a non-unique identity code is known. A candidate list is created for each cell. This candidate list is created based on a function of various elements e.g. distance, transmission power, cell type, and antenna placement. The cells are then ranked on the candidate list based on this function. When a particular frequency/code combination is detected, the candidate list is then consulted, and the highest ranking cell with the same frequency/code combination is chosen as being the signal source. In an alternative embodiment the neighbor cell list is used to create the candidate list. If there are no matches on this list for the detected frequency/code combination, then the neighbors of the cells on the candidate list are also added to the candidate list which is then checked for a match.
