摘要： Cigarette packs are transported by the upper stretch of a first belt to move into the range of a pneumatic overhead conveyor which transfers some or all of the packs onto one or more additional belts. The pneumatic conveyor has an apertured disk which is driven at a constant speed and rotates at a level above the first belt so that a portion of the disk overlaps the path of oncoming packs. The disk rotates below one or more suction chambers at least one of which is normally disconnected from and can be connected to a suction generating device when a selected pack reaches the disk whereby the disk cooperates with the suction chamber to lift the selected pack off the first belt and to transfer it onto another belt. The selection is made by a circuit employing a detector which is adjacent to the first belt and serves to produce signals in response to detection of defective packs or in response to detection of each pack whereby a timer circuit energizes the solenoid of a valve which controls the evacuation of air from a suction chamber above the revolving disk to effect the transfer of each second or third, etc. pack onto a second belt and the transfer of all other packs onto a third belt.

摘要： A packing machine wherein blocks of cigarettes are wrapped to form packs and/or wherein cigarette packs are provided with transparent outer envelopes comprises intermittently operated conveyors for envelopes and their contents. The conversion of tinfoil, paper and/or transparent plastic blanks into envelopes involves a series of treatments including one or more treatments each of which can be completed within a first period whose length equals the sum of an interval of stepwise movement and an interval of dwell of the respective conveyor, and one or more second treatments each of which can be completed within a longer second period. When the machine receives a stop signal, its operation continues until after the completion of a treatment which is in progress when the stop signal is being produced, regardless of whether the started treatment is a first or a second treatment. Consequently, all blanks which undergo treatment at the time a stop signal is being produced are processed to a degree which is necessary to insure that such blanks need not be discarded when the machine is started again.

摘要： A cigarette packing machine wherein empty packs are produced independently of the rate of formation and transport of blocks of cigarettes. The blocks of cigarettes are introduced into a compacting turret which rotates past a detector serving to effect transfer of an empty pack to a pack filling station whenever it detects a satisfactory blocks so that a particular empty pack is assigned to each scanned block. Unfilled packs are temporarily stored or immediately removed from the packing machine. If stored, the empty packs can be moved stepwise along an endless path defined by one or more turrets or one or more turrets and one or more belt conveyors.

摘要： A cutting apparatus for subdividing webs of paper, metallic foil or synthetic plastic material into blanks or uniting bands for use in tobacco processing machines has an intermittently driven hollow drum which is open at one end and is formed with two openings located diametrically opposite each other. The external surface of the drum attracts by suction the leading end of a web which is being withdrawn from a bobbin. A stationary blade is mounted externally of the drum and a second blade is mounted in the interior of the drum opposite the stationary blade. When the drum is at a standstill, one of its openings (which is then overlapped by the leading end of the web to be severed) is located between the two blades. The second blade is then caused (either by an electromagnet or by a rotary cam) to move relative to the stationary blade whereby the cutting edges of the blades cooperate to sever the web overlying that opening which is located between the blades.

摘要： A cigarette packing machine wherein empty packs or their component parts are withdrawn from the respective magazines only when a detector determines the presence of a block of cigarettes which are being transported to a pack filling station. The detector then causes the transfer of a prefabricated empty pack from its magazine to the filling station or the conversion of one or more blanks into an empty pack and the transfer of such pack to the filling station. Each block of cigarettes is introduced into and enclosed in that pack whose transfer from the magazine to the filling station or whose making from one or more blanks was initiated in response to detection of the particular block.
