Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing a new discovery and mapping micro-service. The discovery and mapping micro-service may be implemented to dynamically discover and map a cloud environment as the deployed resources change. The new micro-service can map the environment without prior knowledge (e.g., without a template or manual interaction) by initializing itself and tracking resource changes. Once a new message is received in relation to a resource change, the disclosed system may realign and/or update the map of the cloud environment.

Abstract: An example system including a controller, a processing resource, and a memory resource including instructions that when executed cause the processing resource to discover an orphan virtual machine (VM) included in a cloud platform. The controller may determine characteristics of the orphan VM based on information identified in the cloud platform and map the orphan VM to a virtual network function (VNF) based on the information identified in the cloud platform and assign the VNF to a tenant based on the characteristics of the orphan VM.

Abstract: A computing system comprising a monitoring engine to generate and save a plurality of monitoring rules based on virtualized network function (VNF) types and VNF components. Each monitoring rule corresponds to a unique combination of a VNF type and a VNF component. The monitoring engine further receives a VNF monitoring notification for monitoring a new VNF provisioned in a network function virtualization environment. The VNF monitoring notification indicates a key performance indicator (KPI) to be monitored for the new VNF and KPI parameters corresponding to the KPI. Further, the monitoring engine determines a monitoring rule corresponding to the new VNF, from among the plurality of monitoring rules, based on the KPI. The monitoring engine subsequently executes the monitoring rule corresponding to the new VNF for monitoring KPIs for determining performance of the new VNF.

The machine-readable storage medium stores instructions executable by the processor to: perform empirical mode decomposition of utilization data for a computing resource to generate a plurality of component functions; generate a plurality of neural networks via the plurality of component functions; generate, via the plurality of neural networks, a composite utilization forecast for the computing resource; and allocate the computing resource based on the composite utilization forecast.
