Abstract: According to one aspect, there is provided a management system to control a 3D printing system that includes at least one 3D printer, at least one build unit in which 3D objects can be generated by the 3D printer, and at least one material processing unit in which processing operations can be performed on the build unit. The management system comprises a processor to obtain status data from at least some of the elements of the 3D printing system, to obtain data relating to a print job to be printed, to determine, from the obtained data, a schedule of operations to be performed by elements of the 3D printing system and to generate control data to allow enforcement of the determined schedule.

Abstract: Examples of temperature measurement calibration in an additive manufacturing system are described. In one case, a method of calibrating a non-contact temperature measurement device involves applying energy from a radiation source of the additive manufacturing system to heat a reference element. The reference element is thermally coupled to a temperature sensor. A temperature reading from the temperature sensor is compared with data from the non-contact temperature measurement device to calibrate the device.

Abstract: A build material container (100) may comprise a container body (102) enclosing a volume to contain a build material (104) for three-dimensional printing. In an example, the container body comprises a sidewall. A compressible wall element (108) may be disposed in the sidewall, wherein compression of the compressible portion wall element reduces the volume of the container. An opening (112) to introduce the build material into the container body may be disposed in an upper region of the sidewall.

Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for controlling harmonics. For each device in an array of devices, a level of harmonic control is acquired to apply to an alternating current voltage powering the device. The level of harmonic control defines a period in a cycle of the alternating current voltage in which to drop the alternating current voltage. For each device in an array of devices, the alternating current voltage powering the device is controlled by dropping the alternating current voltage in the period defined by the acquired level of harmonic control.

Abstract: In example implementations, an apparatus includes an interface. The interface is to detect a connection to a 3D printer and a connection to a powder supply/post-processing component. The interface may be in communication with a processor. The processor may also be in communication with a timer. The timer is to begin tracking a cooling time when the interface is disconnected from the 3D printer and the processor is to transmit the cooling time to the powder supply/post-processing component when the interface detects the connection to the powder supply/post-processing component.

Abstract: Examples of determining the temperature of a print zone in an additive manufacturing system are described. In one case, the additive manufacturing system comprises a print zone, a radiation source, an infra-red sensor and an ambient light sensor. The infra-red sensor is configured to measure the temperature of the print zone, and the ambient light sensor is configured to measure visible electromagnetic radiation. The additive manufacturing system comprises a temperature controller to compensate data from the infra-red sensor for infra-red radiation from the radiation source using data from the ambient light sensor.

Abstract: A printing apparatus, a printing system and a method are disclosed. The method of moving printing fluid within a printing apparatus includes selectively providing a first pressure difference between a first reservoir and a second reservoir by a differential pressure system to cause the printing fluid to move from the first reservoir through a printing fluid applicator to the second reservoir. The method also includes selectively providing a second pressure difference between the first reservoir and the second reservoir by the different pressure system to cause the printing fluid to move from the second reservoir through the printing fluid applicator to the first reservoir.
