Abstract: A source remote copy configuration in a source storage system is migrated to a destination storage system as a destination remote copy configuration. The destination primary storage apparatus of the destination storage system defines a virtual volume mapped to the primary volume provided by the source primary storage apparatus which is a storage area of the virtual volume; takes over a first identifier of the primary volume to the virtual volume; transfers, when the virtual volume receives an access request, the access request to the source primary storage apparatus to write data in the primary volume; and takes over the first identifier from the virtual volume to another primary volume provided by the destination primary storage apparatus, after completion of copy of data from primary volume of the source primary storage apparatus into primary volume of the destination primary storage apparatus and secondary volume of the destination secondary storage apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention proposes an information processing system and a volume allocation method making it feasible to reduce overall system operation cost. A replication group to carry out replication is comprised of one or multiple nodes. A storage node classifies respective storage devices mounted thereon into plural storage hierarchies according to the drive type of each of the storage devices for management of the storage devices. A controller node allocates, to each node of the nodes constituting the replication group, a volume for which a storage device of a storage hierarchy suitable for a type of middleware that the node uses and a node type of the node acting in the replication group provides a storage area.

Abstract: The primary storage sub system writes a marker that includes the sequence number and that indicates a completion of the data copy into the journal storage area of the first primary group when the data copy from a first primary data volume to a second primary data volume is completed. The primary storage sub system transmits a journal of the first primary group to a first secondary group corresponded to the first primary group and transmits a journal of a second primary group to a second secondary group corresponded to a second primary group. The secondary storage sub system reflects a journal of the first secondary group to a secondary data volume, terminates the reflection based on the marker, switches a volume that makes a volume pair with the secondary data volume from the first primary data volume to the second primary data volume, modifies a belonging of the secondary data volume from the first secondary group to the second secondary group, and reflects a journal in the journal storage area of the second secondary group to the secondary data volume.

Abstract: A computer system includes a management computer, a first storage apparatus, and a second storage apparatus. A first logical device of the first storage apparatus and a second logical device of the second storage apparatus constitute a remote copy pair. The second logical device and a third logical device of the second storage apparatus constitute a copy pair. The second logical device and the third logical device have virtual IDs to be recognized by an issuer of an I/O request. The second storage apparatus interchanges the virtual IDs of the third logical device and the second logical device with reception of a command from the management computer as a trigger during processing of the I/O request from the issuer of the I/O request to the third logical device, thereby switching an access destination of the issuer of the I/O request from the third logical device to the second logical device.

Abstract: A primary storage system is equipped with a local storage subsystem having a mirror volume of a volume in a primary storage subsystem, and a remote storage subsystem having a mirror volume of the volume in the primary storage subsystem at a secondary site. When storing a write data from a host to a volume, the primary storage subsystem determines an SEQ# to be stored in a journal corresponding to the write request, creates a journal including the relevant SEQ# and a replica of the write data, and transmits the relevant SEQ# to the local storage subsystem, which creates a journal including the relevant SEQ# and stores it in its own journal volume. But when creation of the journal including the relevant SEQ# is stopped, the local storage subsystem creates a dummy journal including the relevant SEQ# but not including the write data.
