Abstract:
A color picture tube in which a color selective mask is supported by mask support means made of a plurality of elastic material sheets each shaped and arranged so as to have a relatively large elasticity in a direction being in a plane parallel to a side face of a mask frame to which the sheet is secured and perpendicular to the length of the side face, thus serving as a torsion spring, so that the path of local displacement of the color selective mask and its peripheral frame due to thermal expansion or their displacement due to any external force is substantially coincident with the path of a deflected electron beam, thereby compensating for the deviations of relative positions between phosphor dots and corresponding apertures in the mask.
Abstract:
In a method of manufacturing a color picture tube wherein the phosphor coated on the inner surface of the panel of the tube is exposed to the light emanated from a source of light and transmitting through a correction lens having a discontinuous surface, the phosphor is exposed to the light while continuously changing the relative positions of the panel, the source of light and the correction lens thereby uniformly exposing the phosphor.
Abstract:
In a shadow mask for use in a colour picture tube of the type including a plurality of perforations for passing an electron beam there are provided on the opposite sides of the shadow mask layers of a substance capable of suppressing the emission of secondary electrons caused by the collision of the electron beam.
Abstract:
An electron gun structure having a main focusing lens including a unipotential electron lens and a bipotential electron lens, the unipotential and bipotential electron lenses serving as a single main electron lens having a larger effective aperture thereby greatly reducing aberration.
Abstract:
IN AN EXPOSURE DEVICE UTILIZED TO MANUFACTURE A COLOR PICTURE TUBE OF THE CLASS COMPRISING A SOURCE OF LIGHT AND A CORRECTION LENS HAVING A DISCONTINUOUS SURFACE CONSISTING OF A PLURALITY OF DIVIDED REGIONS AND PORTIONS INTERCONNECTING ADJACENT DIVIDED REGIONS, WHEREIN THE DIVIDED REGIONS AND THE PORTIONS THEREBETWEEN HAVE DIFFERENT LIGHT TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS AND THE LIGHT EMANATED FROM THE SOURCE OF LIGHT AND TRANSMITTING THROUGH THE CORRECTION LENS IS USED TO ILLUMINATED THE PHOSPHOR PHOTO-RESIST COATED ON THE INNER SURFACE OF THE PANEL OF THE TUBE, THERE IS PROVIDED A FILTER INTEGRAL WITH OR INDEPENDENT OF THE CORRECTION LENS. THE FILTER IS CONSTRUCTED TO HAVE OPPOSITE DISTRIBUTION PATTERN OF THE LIGHT TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS TO THAT OF THE CORRECTION LENS THEREBY PROVIDING A UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION OF THE LIGHT PASSING THROUGH THE FILTER AND THE CORRECTION LENS AND ILLUMINATING THE PHOSPHOR.
Abstract:
An adapter for protecting terminal pins of an electron tube is comprised by a cylindrical body having a central bore of a diameter sufficient to accommodate the exhaust member at the bottom of the electronic tube and a plurality of axially extending grooves provided on the periphery of the cylindrical body at positions corresponding to the terminal pins.
Abstract:
In a post focusing type colour picture tube of the type wherein a fluorescent screen is connected to an external terminal by means of a connecting member which is supported by a post focusing electrode through an insulating member, the insulating member is connected to the connecting member and the post focusing electrode member by welding, fusion or brazing instead of using a bonding agent which is liable to be broken by mechanical shock or aging.
Abstract:
In a correcting lens utilized to form the fluorescent screen of a colour television receiving tube, the lens being of the type wherein the effective surface of the lens through which the effective light beams pass is divided into a plurality of discontinuous effective regions of relatively small inclination angles with respect to the bottom surface of the lens and the adjacent effective regions are interconnected by connecting regions of larger inclination angles with respect to the bottom surface, opaque or translucent films are applied to the connecting regions.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a color picture tube having three electron gun units arranged in the form of a trigonal pyramid or prism within the neck of the tube, the corresponding electrodes of the respective electron guns, which are to be held at the same potential, being electrically connected mutually with a contact strip.
Abstract:
In a post-deflection focusing type colour cathode ray tube of the type comprising a shadow mask, a phosphor film formed on the inner surface of the face plate of the tube, a metal back electrode formed on the phosphor film for establishing a high intensity electric field between the metal back electrode and the shadow mask, and an electrode film formed on the inner surface of the funnel of the tube, a source of potential is connected between the shadow mask and the electrode film for applying a potential to the electrode film about 30 to 800 volts higher than the potential of the shadow mask.
