    Abstract: [Problem] To provide a collision damage reduction system for watercrafts, which system is usable even when a user watercraft stops or is moving at slow speed.
    [Solution] A collision damage reduction system for watercrafts comprises: an information acquiring device for acquiring information on a user watercraft 2 and a target watercraft 11; a turning device for turning the user watercraft 2 to change a front-rear direction thereof; and a control device configured to acquire the information from the information acquiring device, and control the turning device based on the acquired information. When detecting a risk of collision between the user watercraft 2 and the target watercraft 11, the control device controls the turning device such that the turning device turns the user watercraft 2 to a state in which the front-rear direction thereof is parallel to a moving direction of the target watercraft 11.

    Abstract: A maneuvering control device for vessels, and vessels are provided, which recognize docks with high accuracy. A maneuvering control device 1 for a vessel 500 includes: a vessel self-position data acquisition unit P that acquires position data on itself; a radar device R arranged on a hull, the radar device receiving a reflected wave from an object of a radio wave transmitted around the hull; and a vessel-maneuvering data processing unit 100 that creates a map of around the hull and estimates a vessel self-position by using the position data acquired by the vessel self-position data acquisition unit P and data on the reflected wave received by the radar device R, in which the vessel-maneuvering data processing unit 100 creates a map by removing received values below a threshold from the data on the reflected wave.

    Abstract: To prolong a lifetime of a starter battery, a starting system (5) for an internal combustion engine (3) includes: a starter battery (22) constituted of a lithium-ion battery and configured to supply electric power to a starter motor (21); and a controller (51) configured to drive the starter motor (21) by the electric power from the starter battery (22) to perform cranking operations of the engine (3) intermittently, wherein the controller (51) is configured to prohibit the cranking operations for a first time interval before the cranking operations are performed a prescribed number of times within a prescribed time window, and to prohibit the cranking operations for a second time interval longer than the first time interval right after the cranking operations are performed the prescribed number of times within the prescribed time window.

    Abstract: In automatic watercraft piloting system, a control unit computes a plurality of first routes from a current position to a target position that avoid any obstacle that may exist between the current position and the target position, computes a second route for each of the first routes that the watercraft is predicted to travel when the propulsion device and the steering device are controlled by the control unit so as to follow the particular first route under an interference identified by an obstacle identification device, select one of the second routes that brings the watercraft to a spot nearest to the target position as an optimum route, and control the propulsion device and the steering device so as to cause the watercraft to progress along the first route that corresponds to the optimum route in absence of the interference.
