Abstract: The lithium metal secondary battery of the present invention includes an electrode stack formed by stacking a positive electrode and a negative electrode having a negative electrode current collector with a separator interposed therebetween, and an electrolyte solution, in which lithium is deposited on the negative electrode current collector during charging and dissolved during discharging; the separator includes a porous membrane and a porous conductive coat layer stacked on at least part of the surface of the porous membrane on the side of the negative electrode, in which the electrical conductivity of the porous conductive coat layer is within the range of 1.0×101 to 1.0×105 S/cm, and the surface resistivity of the porous conductive coat layer is 200 Ω/cm2 or less.
