Abstract:
A system and method for adaptively operating an automated system is provided. one or more of a state of the automated system and a state of an operator of the automated system is estimated, in a processor and, based on one or both of the estimated state of the automated system and the estimated state of the operator, the interaction between the automated system and the operator is varied. The interaction may be varied by at least one or more of rendering, on one or more displays, data representative of one or more automated processes being implemented in the automated system, generating aural sounds representative of one or more automated processes being implemented in the automated system, and generating, in the automated system, feedback requests that require the operator to supply one or more inputs to the automated system.
Abstract:
A system and method for assisting flight crew recovery in the aftermath of an unexpected event is provided. A processor is used to detect that an unexpected event has occurred in an aircraft and, in response to detecting that the unexpected event has occurred, state data are stored in memory. The processor is also used to detect that the unexpected event has been resolved and, in response to detecting that the unexpected event has been resolved, the processor retrieves the state data from the memory, generates an aftermath plan that includes prompts to guide the flight crew to complete the aftermath plan, and continuously updates the aftermath plan until the aftermath plan is completed.

Abstract:
A method for obtaining flight data for one or more recent flights of an aircraft is provided. The method extracts, via a communication device, avionics data from a data communication bus onboard the aircraft; identifies electronic logbook data and aircraft performance data, based on the extracted avionics data; incorporates the electronic logbook data into an electronic logbook to create an updated electronic logbook; creates a summary of the one or more recent flights, based on the aircraft performance data; and presents, via a display device, the updated electronic logbook and the summary of the one or more recent flights.
Abstract:
A practice airspace management system includes a control unit configured to receive user inputs from a first user and to generate a first training plan based on the user inputs. The control unit is further configured to generate display commands representing the first training plan on a navigation map. The practice airspace management system further includes a display device coupled to receive the display commands from the control unit and configured to display a navigation map view that includes the navigation map and a first training plan symbol representing the first training plan on the navigation map.
