    Abstract: Methods and systems for providing location information for a user-selected feature on an active vertical situation display (VSD) in a cockpit of an aircraft. The method includes rendering the VSD having a plurality of terrain and weather features; receiving, from a user interface, the user-selected feature from among the plurality of features on the VSD, the plurality of features including terrain features and weather features; causing a reticle to be displayed as an overlay, centered, on the user-selected feature on the VSD, responsive to receiving the user-selected feature; rendering a horizontal extension from a center of the reticle to an intersection on a vertical axis of the VSD, and a vertical extension from the center of the reticle to an intersection on a horizontal axis of the VSD. An elevation label and a distance label are positioned on the respective extensions.

    Abstract: A method of displaying information is provided. The method comprises: displaying, on a GUI page that displays a primary function, a plurality of top-level graphical control elements in a row on the GUI page; displaying, on the GUI page responsive to selection of one of the top-level graphical control elements, one or more second-level graphical control elements adjacent to the selected top-level graphical control element and an outline that encompasses the selected top-level graphical control element and the one or more second-level graphical control elements; receiving data entry for affecting the state of a system parameter via a graphical control element while simultaneously providing access to one or more unselected graphical control elements; and transferring the entered data value to appropriate equipment on the vehicle for implementation. The display size of the top-level and second-level graphical control elements allows the display device to continue to display the primary function.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for generating a vertical situation display for a noise abatement departure procedure (NADP). Other NADP relevant displays are also disclosed including display of NADP parameters on altitude tape and primary flight displays, an NADP bug on an engine display and NADP status annunciations. The methods and systems include receiving NADP parameters entered into a flight management system (FMS) on a user interface of the aircraft system. The NADP parameters include: an initial altitude at which take-off thrust should be reduced to NADP thrust, an acceleration altitude at which the aircraft should begin accelerating to a final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, a climb excitement altitude at which a speed target is changed to the final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, and an end altitude at which the NADP should be exited. The methods and systems include generating a vertical situation display for a display device of the aircraft system indicating the NADP parameters on a flight path indication.

    Abstract: Methods and systems of displaying weather data for a cockpit display system of an aircraft. The methods and systems include generating a display to include a first graphical map of real-time weather data from a weather radar. The display further includes a notification graphic associated with a portion of part of a displayed flight plan in which a significant weather condition exists. When the notification graphic is selected, the display includes the first graphical map of the real time weather data based on weather data from the weather radar and a second graphical map of significant weather conditions data derived from transmitted weather data.
