Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for exchanging real-time data between vehicle systems by receiving, at a first source system, a request for data from a requestor and, based on determining that the first source system does not have all requested data, querying an operations center for missing data. Then, based on determining that the operations center does not have all missing data, the operations center is queried for a list comprising candidate source systems. Upon identifying a next source system from the list, the next source system is queried for missing data, and the next source system is removed from the list. Based on whether the next source system has all missing data, either all missing data is transmitted to the requestor, or, the process of finding and querying for the missing data is iteratively performed until all missing data is received or the list is empty.

Abstract: A system and method for dynamically recording vehicle data are provided. The system comprises an electronic unit onboard a vehicle, a data recording function hosted in the electronic unit, and one or more electronic data producers in operative communication with the data recording function. The data recording function is operative to receive a request specifying data parameters that at least include an identified electronic data set to record, a duration for the data recording, and a destination for the data recording. The data recording function is also operative to process the request based on the data parameters to produce a set of real time recorded data from the one or more electronic data producers, and to send the set of recorded data to a data storage location based on the destination in the request.

Abstract: Systems and methods and disclosed for alerting improper inhibition of alerts of aircraft warning systems. In some examples, a method may include: determining whether an inhibition of a safety alert of a warning system of an aircraft is activated; upon determining that the inhibition is activated, determining whether the inhibition is improper under current or upcoming operating conditions of the aircraft, the current or upcoming operating conditions including a current or projected position of the aircraft and a weather condition at the current or projected position; and upon determining that the inhibition is improper under the current or upcoming operating conditions, alerting an operator of the aircraft to deactivate the inhibition.

Abstract: A communication system in an aircraft is described. The communication system includes a CMU that is coupled to at least one safety subnetwork and an AOIP computing device. The AOIP computing device is coupled to at least one non-safety subnetwork. The AOIP computing device determines whether ACARS messages received from the CMU are ACARS safety messages or ACARS non-safety messages. The AOIP computing device monitors CMU status messages from the CMU. In response to the AOIP computing device receiving an ACARS safety message, the AOIP computing device periodically transmits a second status message indicating that the AOIP computing device is unavailable. In response to determining that at least one safety subnetwork is available, the AOIP computing device stops periodically transmitting the second status message and transmits a first status message indicating that the AOIP computing device is available.
