Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for improving routing policy awareness in a network. The method includes detecting, by a controller, an application initiated for use at an edge node of a network. Then, generating, by an analytics engine coupled to the controller, analytical data of traffic flow at the edge node of the network wherein the traffic flow is in accordance with a routing policy for routing traffic associated with the application. Further, routing of the traffic through a path from one or more paths configured at the edge node that is in accordance with at least a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for traffic flow. Also, in response to an SLA violation during routing of the traffic, causing an action, by the controller, of routing traffic flow through another path that is in accordance with at least the SLA for traffic flow based on analytical data received of the traffic flow.

Abstract: A system and method for supporting load balancing in a multi-tenant cluster environment, in accordance with an embodiment. One or more tenants can be supported and each associated with a partition, which are each in turn associated with one or more end nodes. The method can provide a plurality of switches, the plurality of switches comprising a plurality of leaf switches and at least one switch at another level, wherein each of the plurality of switches comprise at least one port. The method can assign each node a weight parameter, and based upon this parameter, the method can route the plurality of end nodes within the multi-tenant cluster environment, wherein the routing attempts to preserve partition isolation.

Abstract: Network requests can be automatically routed between two or more computer subsystems in some examples. In one such example, a system can determine that a user is eligible for a service based on usage data relating to an account of the user. Based on determining that the account is eligible for the service, the system can activate the service for the user by communicating with a service subsystem. Subsequent to activating the service for the user, the system can receive a network request associated with the user and determine that the network request has a characteristic. Based on determining that the network request has the characteristic, the system can forward the request to the service subsystem. The service subsystem can complete the network request using the service.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for managing compromised sensors in multi-tiered virtualized environments. In some embodiments, a system can receive, from a first capturing agent deployed in a virtualization layer of a first device, data reports generated based on traffic captured by the first capturing agent. The system can also receive, from a second capturing agent deployed in a hardware layer of a second device, data reports generated based on traffic captured by the second capturing agent. Based on the data reports, the system can determine characteristics of the traffic captured by the first capturing agent and the second capturing agent. The system can then compare the characteristics to determine a multi-layer difference in traffic characteristics. Based on the multi-layer difference in traffic characteristics, the system can determine that the first capturing agent or the second capturing agent is in a faulty state.

Abstract: A network device uses a routing policy to assess network routes, such as BGP routes. The routes can be routes advertised by neighbors to be programmed in a routing table of the network device. The network routes can be previously programmed routes (e.g., in a routing table) in the network device to be advertised to its neighbors. The routing policy includes routing control functions (RCF functions) for assessing a network route. An RCF function can be invoked with arguments, which allows the user to deploy some common logic (e.g., matching a community list, modifying a local preference value, etc.) with different sets of input values without having to write separate functions for each set of input values.

Abstract: An object is to provide a network device and the like that enable a first network that determines a traffic communication route using the Ethernet ring protocol and a second network that determines a traffic communication route by transmitting/receiving a control frame related to the traffic communication route within the network to be connected in a redundant configuration. When the network device according to the present invention has transitioned to a state in which there is no interface that can communicate with the first network and there is an interface that can communicate with the second network, it transitions to a standby state and further transmits information indicating that communication is impossible to the second network, and when there is an interface that can communicate with the first network and there is no interface that can communicate with the second network, it transitions to the standby state and further transmits communication route change information to the first network.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for latency-oriented router. An incoming packet is received on a first interface. The type of the incoming packet is determined. Upon the detection that the incoming packet belongs to latency-critical traffic, the incoming packet is duplicated into one or more copies. Subsequently, the duplicated copies are sent to a second interface in a delayed fashion where the duplicated copies are spread over a time period. The duplicated copies are received and processed at the second interface.

In this manner, the network is given control of slice traffic management such that the network can force the UE to perform an action(s) when the network thinks that such action(s) is beneficial.
