Methods and apparatuses are described for configuring a downlink (DL) reference signal (RS) for an electronic device (ED). Configuration information associated with the DL RS is received in a first communication from a location management function (LMF) via LTE positioning protocol (LPP). In a communication from a serving cell via radio resource control (RRC), an identifier (ID) of the DL RS and a cell ID of a cell that originates the DL RS are received. The configuration information received in the first communication also includes the ID of the DL RS and the cell ID. A sounding reference signal (SRS) is transmitted to the cell identified by the cell ID, according to path loss (PL) information or spatial domain transmission filter (TF) information associated with the DL RS.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a reference signal notification method, including: sending, by a network device, a reference signal notification message, where the reference signal notification message includes time resource information of a reference signal. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the reference signal notification message in the present invention is used to notify UE of a reference signal configuration, especially information about a CSI-RS, so that the network device can flexibly provide a reference signal, especially a CSI-RS, and the UE can more effectively receive the reference signal, especially the CSI-RS.
Abstract:
This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method is applied to an unlicensed band, and includes: receiving first information sent by a network device, where the first information includes a Q value or a first parameter, and the first parameter indicates a status of a discovery burst transmission window DBTW; and determining the status of the DBTW based on the Q value or the first parameter. According to the solution provided in this application, a terminal device can determine the status of the DBTW, to quickly implement timing synchronization with the network device.

A signal transmission method and an apparatus. The method includes: a location management device receives first SRS resource configuration information from a serving cell and/or a neighboring cell. The location management device sends second SRS resource configuration information to a terminal device, where the second SRS resource configuration information includes third SRS resource configuration information and a downlink reference signal associated with an SRS resource indicated by the third SRS resource configuration information, and the third SRS resource configuration information is a part or all of the first SRS resource configuration information. The location management device configures the SRS resource for the terminal device, so that the SRS resource can be associated with the downlink reference signal. This helps the terminal device obtain information about a transmission beam for sending an SRS, and therefore SRS receiving efficiency of the cell can be improved to some extent.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a systematic solution to virtual random access (VRA) that dynamically and adaptively forms various metrics. The present invention facilitates dynamic data pipelining between the network-side and the UE-sides without the need to use the same cell-association concept as current wireless networks and provides soft associations between dynamic groups of UEs and TPs based on various UE, TP, and network related metrics. To provide efficient collaborative grouping and association among TPs and UEs, the present invention features a soft TP-UE association map based on several factors, such as individual UE metrics, TP metrics, effects of neighboring or nearby UEs (e.g., interference), and historical network knowledge.
