Abstract: A power management method and a terminal device are provided, so as to prevent an ongoing service from being affected because of power saving. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, a first operation, where the first operation is used to invoke a first application program; querying, by the terminal device, an association relationship between a power range and an application program, so as to determine whether the first application program to be invoked in response to the first operation is an available application program associated with a power range to which current remaining power of the terminal device belongs; and skipping invoking, by the terminal device, the first application program if the first application program is not an available application program associated with the power range to which the current remaining power belongs.
