Abstract: A filter element has a pleated filter mat (3). The terminal axial ends (7, 8) of the mat are connected to end caps (9, 11). The mat has a main structural layer (15) having filtering properties and a first additional structural layer and a second additional structural layer (17,19). The surface area of each of the additional structural layers (17, 19) is smaller than the surface area of the main structural layer (15). The axial ends (12, 14) of one additional structural layer (17) is located at an axial distance from the axial ends (16, 18) of the other additional structural layer (19) on the filter mat (3).

Abstract: A filter element for fluids, in particular for hydraulic fluid, has a foldable filter casing (10) with at least one filter layer (18, 20, 22, 24) extending between two end caps (26, 32). To vary in regions the thickness of the filter casing (10), the height (h1) of each filter fold (12, 44) increases from one end cap (26) to the other end cap (32). Alternatively, with the filter fold height (h1) being maintained, the outer diameter (40) of the filter casing (10) varies in the direction of one of the end caps (26, 32).

Abstract: A method for degassing flowable fluids, in particular liquids used for hydrogen storage, uses a device including a desorber (12) that can be filled with fluid to be degassed and through which the fluid can flow. A circulation pump (48) circulates the fluid during a degassing process in the desorber (12). A vacuum pump (38) generates a vacuum in the desorber (12) during a filling step with fluid and for discharging the gas from the desorber (12) during the degassing step. At least one sensor (44a, 44b) measures the pressure in the desorber (12) and/or a dwell time. A control unit ends the degassing process when a predefined pressure is measured by the sensor (44a, 44b) and/or when a predefined dwell time of the fluid in the desorber (12) is measured.
