    摘要: A spindle motor assembly for a hard disk drive which has a fluid filled tube that dynamically balances the spindle motor. The assembly may include a hub which is rotated by an internal motor. A plurality of disks may be coupled to the hub and separated by a number of spacers. In one embodiment, the fluid filled tube is attached to the hub. In another embodiment, the fluid filled tube is attached to the spacer. The fluid within the tube is allowed to move during rotation of the hub. Movement of the fluid may dynamically balance the spindle motor.

    摘要: The invention includes a disk damper containing an extended area located on the upstream side of the head stack assembly. The extended area is joined to a tail section. In the extended area, the disk damper provides a wall near the neighboring rotating disk surface that extends from the outside diameter to the inside diameter of the rotating disk surface. Experimental results have shown that this provides much more consistent dampening of disk vibrations and vibrations of a head stack assembly positioned anywhere from the inside diameter to the outside diameter.     摘要: A hard disk drive that includes a disk, a head, and a filter enclosed by a base plate and a cover plate. The base plate has a filter wall with a fore end and an aft end. The fore end of the filter wall has a tapered surface that extends to an apex. The distal end of the filter wall has a first filter attachment portion separated from a second filter attachment portion by a groove. The second filter attachment portion may be longer than the first filter attachment portion. The filter wall induces a flow of air that inhibits particle attachment to a reverse side of the filter.
