A method for receiving a downlink signal at a relay node in a wireless communication system, the method comprising receiving downlink control information by demodulating a R-PDCCH of a first RB pair based on a downlink channel estimated by a DMRS in the first resource block (RB) pair; and receiving downlink data by demodulating a PDSCH of the one or more RB pairs contiguous to the first RB pair based on a downlink channel estimated by a DMRS in the one or more RB pairs, wherein, if the PDSCH is assigned to the first RB pair, the downlink channel is estimated on the assumption that the same precoder is applied to one RB bundle including the first RB pair and the one or more RB pairs.

The relay node receives information on a plurality of relay subframes used for relaying signals between the base station and the relay node. When a backhaul link failure is detected, the relay node determines at least one reserved subframe except the plurality of relay subframes and receives information to recover the backhaul link failure on a control channel in the at least one reserved subframe.

The method includes: receiving by the relay station a transmission rank value for a backhaul downlink from a base station through a high-layer signal; receiving control information from the base station through a control region; and decoding the control information, wherein the transmission rank value for the backhaul downlink is a transmission rank value assumed when the relay station decodes the control information, and wherein the control information is mapped to a resource element which does not overlap with a dedicated reference signal resource element mapped to the control region by assuming the transmission rank value for the backhaul downlink.
