摘要: Provided are compositions, methods, and systems that relate to downhole tractor wheels. A downhole tractor system comprising: tubular housing capable of being deployed downhole by wireline; plurality of wheels rotatably mounted to tubular housing, wheels having at least a portion of an outer surface comprising polymeric material. A method for conveying a downhole tool along an inner wall of a wellbore, the method comprising: disposing downhole tool coupled to downhole tractor within wellbore; providing energy to downhole tractor by way of wireline thereby rotating a wheel disposed on downhole tractor; frictionally engaging the inner wall of wellbore with wheel comprising polymeric material disposed on at least a portion of an outer surface of wheel thereby providing a compressive load between the inner wall of the wellbore and polymeric material; allowing downhole tractor to proceed along wellbore wall until downhole tractor reaches desired location; deploying downhole tool for use in wellbore.

摘要: According to one aspect, a downhole apparatus includes an anchor element mechanically coupled between first and second housings and linked to move radially between first and second radial positions; and a high torque electromechanical transmission drive; wherein the anchor element is adapted to engage a preexisting structure when the downhole apparatus extends within the preexisting structure, the high torque electromechanical transmission drive is energized, and the anchor element is in the second radial position; and wherein the high torque electromechanical transmission drive is failsafe in that the anchor element is permitted to move radially from the second radial position towards the first radial position in response to de-energization of the high torque electromechanical transmission drive. In several embodiments, the preexisting structure is a casing positioned within a wellbore that traverses a subterranean formation.

摘要: A downhole anchoring mechanism configured to anchor a downhole tool assembly to a target location within an oilfield tubular. The anchoring mechanism comprises an anchor pad, a first arm coupled to a first hub and the anchor pad, and an extension mechanism coupled to a wedge hub and the anchor pad. The anchor pad is configured to extend radially outwards by the tapered surface of the wedge hub to engage an inner surface of a small oilfield tubular in response to the extension mechanism being configured in a deactivated mode. The anchor pad is configured to be extended radially outwards by the first arm and the extension mechanism to engage the inner surface of a large oilfield tubular in response to the extension mechanism being configured in an activated mode. The extension mechanism is a telescopic arm assembly or a sliding axle assembly.

摘要: A cutting tool can be used to cut through a tubing string in a wellbore. Metal cuttings are formed during the cutting process. The cutting tool can include a cutting insert with a blade that is rotated around a longitudinal axis of the tool. A nose can include a spiral cutout adjacent to the blade. The spiral cutout can force the metal cuttings down past the outside of the nose and down into the tubing string. The nose can also include a guide on the outside underneath the blade. The guide can also provide a pathway for the metal cuttings to fall past the outside of the nose and down into the tubing string. The spiral cutout and the optional guide can be used to prevent metal cuttings from lodging within the cutting tool and preventing the tool from rotating and cutting.
