    Abstract: A duct comprising: an inlet; an outlet; a shell having a tubular form extending between the inlet and the outlet; a main flow path (H) within the shell for conveying a main flow between the inlet and the outlet; and a heat exchange structure, wherein the heat exchange structure comprises: an intake port provided in the shell; an output port provided in the shell; and a secondary flow path (C) within the shell for conveying a secondary flow between the intake port and the output port, wherein the secondary flow path is spirally intertwined with the main flow path for a section of the duct to provide a heat exchanger within the duct.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger for exchanging heat between first and second fluids, comprising first fluid channels extending in a longitudinal direction for carrying a first fluid, and second fluid channels extending in the longitudinal direction for carrying a second fluid, wherein the first and second fluid channels are arranged in an alternating pattern such that each of a plurality of the first channels is located laterally between second channels and each of a plurality of second channels is located laterally between first channels, and wherein the second fluid channels extend longitudinally beyond ends of the first fluid channels, and have ends that decrease in cross section such that the first fluid is able to pass around and between the ends of the second channels.

    Abstract: A layer of a heat exchanger includes plurality of flow paths, a first end section comprising a plurality of flow path inlets and a plurality flow path outlets. a second end section comprising a turnaround section, a first morphing section fluidly connect to the first end section, a second morphing section fluidly connected to the second end section; and a central section positioned between and fluidly connected to the first and second morphing sections. The plurality of flow paths extend from the flow path inlets to the flow path outlets via the turnaround section in the second end section. In the first end section and the second end section the flow paths have a first cross section. The central section the flow paths have a second cross section and in the first and second morphing section the cross section of the flow paths morph between first and second cross sections.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger comprises a shell having a first inlet and a first outlet for a first fluid (H) and a second inlet and a second outlet for a second fluid (C), and a screw element. The screw element has a core and first and second nested helical flights mounted to the core. The helical flights define first and second helical fluid passages along the shell. The first fluid passage is in fluid communication with the first inlet and the first outlet and the second fluid passage is in fluid communication with the second inlet and the second outlet. The heat exchanger further comprises a plurality of tubes mounted between adjacent turns of the first and second helical flights and extending across the fluid flow passage formed between the helical flights for conducting the first and or second fluid.
