In the center of the circular storage site is provided at least one jib of a dumping device rotatable about a vertical axis, which is fed with the bulk material by means of a feed belt, the discharge end of which is situated above the dumping device in the center of the device. Moreover there is provided at least one removal device which can be swivelled about said vertical axis and machinery situated in the neighborhood of the center by means of which the bulk material removed is fed to a conveyor belt passing through said vertical axis. The removal device and the jib of the dumping device are arranged on a framework which is supported and guided on at least one circular railway concentric with said axis.

More specifically, a reclaimer apparatus is described having a platform mounted on one or more wheel track assemblies arranged to roll on at least one rail. A pivotal reclaim conveyor assembly is made of a head shaft and a tail shaft and means to support a plurality of rakes, wherein the plurality of rakes are spaced at intervals in a continuous loop around the pivotal reclaim conveyor assembly. Apparatus for handling bulk material located in a pile at a storage site including a stationary support column that is anchored at the lowermost end thereof. The support column supports a stacker device at the uppermost end thereof, the stacker device being mounted for rotating movement relative to said support column for stacking the material at the storage site in a substantially circular array. A material feed device is mounted over said stacker device and feeds the material thereto during the stacking operation. Mounted for rotary movement relative to said support column is a reclaimer device, the reclaimer device being operable to reclaim the material from the pile for transfer thereof to a discharge area. The reclaimer device is rotated about a vertical axis to provide access to the circular array of material, the vertical axis of rotation of the reclaimer being disposed such that it is not coincident with the longitudinal axis of said support column, wherein the reclaimer device is rotatable about its own axis through a range of 0.degree. to about 310.degree. without interference with the support column.

The invention concerns an arrangement for the adjustment of the position of a shearbar with respect to knives of a chopper assembly. The arrangement includes a first adjusting drive to position the first end of the shearbar at a predetermined first spacing from the knives and a second adjusting drive to position the second end of the shearbar with respect to the knives until a spacing measurement arrangement indicates that the spacing between the shearbar and the knives is less than a threshold value. An analogous procedure is applied to the first adjusting drive. On the basis of the measurement values the shearbar is brought into a position that corresponds to a desired gap between the shearbar and the knives. Each of the first spacing and the second spacing are greater than the desired gap between the shearbar and the knives.

A locking arrangement is associated with the access door and an actuator is coupled to the access door and the locking arrangement by a linkage containing lost-motion means which operates such that when moving the access door to its grinding position, the locking arrangement is moved to its unlocked position prior to the access door being raised to its grinding position, and such that when returning the access door to its chopping position, the access door is closed before the locking arrangement is moved to its locked position.
