摘要： A label that includes an adhesive and is configured to be applied to an item, and related method. The adhesive is characterized as having a permanence that starts to develop upon contact of the label with the item and builds over time so eventually the label is permanently coupled to the item. The item can be damaged as a result of the label being removed from the item after the label is permanently coupled to the item. If the label is applied to the item in a first position, then the adhesive is configured to allow a removal of the label from the item without damaging the items and a reapplication of the label to the item in a second position within a limited period of time.

摘要： A versatile method for the manufacturing of image transfer sheets which provide users with cold transferring images without using supplemental heat in the course of image transfer to a wide variety of substrates includes printing an image with water-based ink onto an image transfer sheet that has a coating of water-accepting adhesive. A method of manufacturing image transfer sheets includes first applying a water impermeable layer onto a flexible substrate. A layer of water-activatable adhesive is applied upon the water impermeable layer. The adhesive is then dried in a dryer with dehumidified air. A water permeable detack layer is then applied upon the layer of adhesive. In a particular embodiment, the sheet further includes a water-accepting image holding layer in between the water-accepting adhesive layer and the water impermeable layer. The image holding layer becomes water-resisting when heated to within a range of activation temperatures.

摘要： The present invention is directed to an ink composition resistant to solvent evaporation which may be employed for use in retractable permanent marker pens. Generally, the ink composition of the present invention comprises n-propanol, a pyrrolidone, a tryglyceride, a terpene phenolic resin, and at least one colorant to yield a detectable color when the ink composition is applied to a writable substrate. Additionally, the ink composition may further comprise at least one of polyether modified dimethylpolysiloxane copolymer and silicone glycol surfactant. Optionally, the ink composition may further comprise water.

摘要： A pressure sensitive label assembly includes labels mounted on a backing sheet with the labels having a pressure sensitive adhesive which includes between 45 wt. and 85 wt. % of a copolymer of propylene or ethylene with an aliphatic hydrocarbon having an open chain configuration with between 5 and 7, preferably 6, carbon atoms. The copolymer is preferably amorphous propylene-hexene. The pressure sensitive adhesive also includes liquid and solid tackifiers, and may include U.V. stabilizing and anti-oxidant material.

摘要： In general, a smear-resistant ink composition according to the present invention comprises: (1) water; (2) at least one glycol selected from the group consisting of diethylene glycol, ethylene glycol, glycerol, and propylene glycol; (3) a pyrrolidone selected from the group consisting of 2-pyrrolidone and 3-pyrrolidone; and (4) at least one colorant that produces a detectable fluorescent color when the ink composition is applied to paper. Preferably, the pyrrolidone is 2-pyrrolidone. In one preferred embodiment, the at least one glycol comprises diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol. In another preferred embodiment, the at least one glycol comprises diethylene glycol, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol. The composition can comprise other ingredients, such as a basic color stabilizer, a resin, a resin modifier that is a carbonate salt, a biocide, and a nonionic surfactant. The colorants can be formulated to produce a pink, yellow, blue, green, purple, or orange color; other colors are possible.
