Abstract:
A vertical takeoff/landing capable, multi-engine aircraft with an airfoil without elevator or rudder surfaces. Strut apertures are provided that accommodate vertical and horizontal translation of the airfoil in reference to engine supporting struts which are disposed through the apertures, opposite ends of the struts extending to opposite sides of the airfoil, wherein the struts are adjustably attached to the airfoil. A first and second plurality of engines are attached to ends of the struts, an attachment position of the plurality of engines to the struts is horizontally adjustable. A computerized engine controller, controls thrusts of the engines, to enable the aircraft to vertically lift off/land and re-orient itself to horizontally fly, and perform thrust-initiated elevator and rudder emulating flight. An external payload-to-delivery mating mechanism is attached to the bottom of the payload, which mates to a pole leading to the payload receptacle. Transceivers facilitate precise transfer of the payload.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a food handling device especially adapted for handling sliced food products, such as pizza pies or the like, which consists of a base support means forming a food support surface, food gripping means positioned above and substantially parallel to the base support means, and flexible means interconnecting the food gripping means with the base support means. The flexible means is formed of a relatively resilient material in order to permit the food gripping means to be reciprocable toward the base support means. In the preferred embodiment, the base support means, food gripping means and flexible means are integrally formed thereby to provide a food handling device which is unitary in construction. An alternative embodiment further includes a food support member which is slidably engageable with a pair of rail means provided on the lower surface of the base support means which is slidably adapted to alternately expand and decrease the overall food support surface of the food support base in relation to the size of the food product slice supported thereon.
Abstract:
The cueing device, to facilitate the operation of bringing the stylus of a phonograph pickup into engagement with a selected unrecorded zone of a phonograph record, so that the next recorded zone will be played, may include a light source mounted on the pickup for providing a light beam to be reflected from the face of the record to a photoelectric device on the pickup. A utilization device, preferably including a visual signal mounted on the pickup, is operated when the reflected light beam is received by the photoelectric device from the unrecorded zones. The light source, the photoelectric device and the light path therebetween are preferably mounted in a transverse perpendicular plane, transverse to the record grooves and generally perpendicular to the record face. The light reflected by the unrecorded zones is given a polarization in a plane transverse to such transverse perpendicular plane. A polarized light transmitting device, such as means forming a slit, is preferably mounted on the pickup between the record and the photoelectric device and is oriented to favor the transmission of the light polarized by the reflection from the unrecorded zones. The slit may have its longer dimension transverse to the plane of the light path. This construction produces an increased change in the photoelectric signal when the light beam makes a transition between recorded and unrecorded zones.
Abstract:
A drone package receiving system is provided, utilizing a package-to-receiver system coupler that mates to a receiver pole. The coupler is attached to the drone package and “clips” onto the receiver pole to secure the package from the drone. The receiver pole is affixed to receptacle that is at a “customer-side” end of the pole, wherein the package is translated from the pole's end into the receptacle for safe and hands-free delivery to the customer.
