    摘要： The invention relates to an aqueous sizing composition comprising (a) an emulsion comprising an alkenylsuccinic anhydride component containing alkenylsuccinic anhydride particles suspended in a first starch component containing emulsifying starch selected from the group consisting of non-ionic starches, ionic starches, and mixtures thereof, and (b) a second starch component selected from the group consisting of non-ionic starches, ionic starches and mixtures thereof, such that the alkenylsuccinic anhydride and the starch in the emulsion and the second starch component are present at a starch: alkenylsuccinic anhydride weight ratio that is sufficiently high to enable the sizing composition to impart useful sizing properties to a fibrous substrate when the sizing composition contacts the fibrous substrate. The invention also relates to fibrous substrates treated with the sizing composition, processes for making the composition and processes for using such a composition, and other compositions. In one embodiment, alkylene ketene dimer is used instead of alkenylsuccinic anhydride.

    摘要： The invention relates to an aqueous sizing composition including (a) an emulsion comprising alkenylsuccinic anhydride component containing alkenylsuccinic anhydride particles suspended in an aqueous polymer, and (b) a second component selected from the group consisting of cationic starches, non-ionic starches, anionic starches, water-soluble polymer, water and mixtures thereof, such that the alkenylsuccinic anhydride component is sufficiently dilute to enable the sizing composition to impart useful sizing properties to a fibrous substrate when the sizing composition contacts the fibrous substrate. The invention also relates to fibrous substrates treated with such a composition as well as processes for making and using the composition. In one embodiment, alkylene ketene dimer can be used instead of alkenylsuccinic anhydride.

    摘要： A system for processing an envelope containing contents has stations for opening envelopes, and a checking station for checking contents of envelopes. The opening station comprises a cutter and a drive mechanism to separately cut opposed leaves of the envelope. The cutter comprises a wheel for cutting through each of the leaves, and the drive mechanism rotates the wheel and causes it to traverse across the envelope. There is a separate wheel for each envelope leaf and the drive mechanism simultaneously drives the wheels to cut both leaves simultaneously. The cutter comprises a separator for drawing the leaves away from each other so that they are separated from the contents during cutting. The separator comprises at least one suction cup for engaging the leaf and drawing it away from the plane of the contents; and there are opposed suction cups. The separator simultaneously draws the leaves in opposing directions away from the contents.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a portable sprayer for applying a diluted product to a surface to be treated. The sprayer includes a housing including an inlet for supplying pressurized water to the sprayer, a first water only outlet, and a second diluted product only outlet. A mixing chamber is located within the housing. The mixing chamber is dimensioned to securely hold the product and is in fluid communication with the second outlet. A first flow passage extends through the housing. The first flow passage is in selective fluid communication with the inlet and the first outlet. A second flow passage extends through the housing. The second flow passage is in selective fluid communication with the first flow passage and the mixing chamber. A wall of the second flow passage is configured to direct the pressurized water flowing through the second flow passage into the mixing chamber to evenly dissolve the product and provide a generally consistent product to water ratio.

The water soluble cationic coagulant polymer is cationic poly(alkyleneamine), which is the reaction product of the following reaction: H2N—(CH2)m—NR—(CH2)m—NH2+Cl—CH2CH2—Cl, wherein R is selected from the group consisting alkyl radicals containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms m is an integer of from 1 to 4. The amount of dissolved inorganic salt is less than 10% by weight of the composition, and the composition is in a stable, pourable, dispersion form.
