Abstract: This disclosure relates to an organic gel formulation composition for blocking fluids in naturally fractured carbonate reservoirs, for salinity conditions up to 31,870.50 ppm of total dissolved solids and temperatures up to 120° C., that is, for the purpose temporarily isolating areas of the reservoirs, that will be treated with chemical and radioactive products to quantify the oil remaining in them, the stability of the gel is controlled in a certain period of time, through the synergic effect of the supramolecular interaction between the components of the gel formulation. A disclosed composition may include 0.3 to 1% by weight of a copolymer of acrylamide butyl tertiary of sulfonic acid and acrylamide, and 0.12 to 0.4% by weight of phenol and from 0.18 to 0.6% by weight of hexamethylenetetramine.

Abstract: A biocompatible hydrogel has between 0.3% and 30% by weight of dry matter of a copolymer formed at least from acrylamide, chitosan and N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide, as well as a diffusing agent. The diffusing agent is advantageously selected from the group consisting of inert ingredients which have biomechanical properties and active ingredients. A method of manufacturing the hydrogel by copolymerizing, washing, and adding the diffusing agent is provided, as well as a mechanical visco-supplementation system adapted for external or internal use that includes the hydrogel, and an external or internal mechanical visco-supplementation kit including an acrylamide and chitosan copolymer crosslinked with N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide, and a diffusing agent in solid phase or in suspension, the copolymer and the diffusing agent having been previously mixed in the form of a hydrogel during manufacture or being adapted to be mixed extemporaneously to form a hydrogel.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include drug delivery coatings and devices including the same. In an embodiment, the invention includes a drug delivery coating including a polymeric layer. The polymeric layer can include a hydrophilic outer surface. The coating can also include a matrix contacting the hydrophilic outer surface. The matrix can include a particulate hydrophobic therapeutic agent and a cationic agent. The polymeric layer can further include a hydrophilic polymer having pendent photoreactive groups and a photo-crosslinker including two aryl ketone functionalities. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a polymeric dispersant, a rheology modifier, and a surface tension modifier, wherein the surface tension modifier is selected from the group consisting of C1-C16 alcohols, C5-C18 diols, and mixtures thereof. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The rheology modifier can be selected from the group consisting of alkali swellable emulsion polymers, hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsion polymers, and combinations thereof. The cosmetic ink composition can have a surface tension of from about 20 to about 45 mN/m.

Abstract: A contact lens and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The contact lens includes a lens and a hydrophilic polymer layer. The hydrophilic polymer layer and the lens are entangled with each other. The hydrophilic polymer layer and the lens form an interpenetrating polymer network or a semi-interpenetrating polymer network. The hydrophilic polymer layer is formed by polymerizing an initiator adsorbed on the lens with at least one hydrophilic vinyl monomer. The contact lens has excellent hydrophilicity. Since the manufacturing process of the contact lens is simple, the manufacturing efficiency can be improved, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced. Moreover, the manufacturing method can be applied to lenses made of various materials and used for their surface modification, so it is widely applicable.
