    摘要: A pigment dispersion useful for forming coating compositions containing dispersed pigment, a carrier liquid and an AB-block polymer dispersant (binder); the AB block polymer has a number average molecular weight of about 5,000-20,000 and contains 20-80% by weight of a polymeric A segment and correspondingly 80-20% by weight of a polymeric B segment; wherein the polymeric A segment of the block polymer is of polymerized glycidyl (meth)acrylate monomers reacted with an acid from the group of aromatic carboxylic acids or aliphatic carboxylic acids; and the B segment is of polymerized alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers having 1-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, hydroxy alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers having about 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; and wherein the weight ratio of pigment to binder in the dispersion is about 1/100-200/100.

    摘要: A waterbased dispersion useful for forming aqueous coating composition containing dispersed pigment, an aqueous carrier and a branched polymer dispersant (binder); the branched polymer has a weight average molecular weight of about 5,000-100,000 and contains 20-80% by weight of a hydrophilic backbone and correspondingly 80-20% by weight of macromonomer side chains; wherein the backbone is of polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomers and 2-30% by weight, based on the weight of the backbone of polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomers having an acid-functional group; and wherein at least 10% of the acid-functional groups are neutralized with an amine or an inorganic base and is hydrophilic in comparison to the side chains; the side chains are of macromonomers of polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomers that are polymerized into the backbone via an ethylenically unsaturated group and the macromonomers have a weight average molecular weight of about 1,000-30,000 and wherein the weight ratio of pigment to binder is about 1/100-200/100.

    摘要: An acrylic polymer dispersant useful for preparing pigment dispersions utilized in aqueous acrylic coating compositions; the acrylic polymer is of1. styrene, an alkyl methacrylate such as methyl methacrylate, isodecyl methacrylate or stearyl methacrylate or a mixture of styrene and an alkyl methacrylate;2. an alkyl acrylate having 2-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; and3. acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; the acrylic polymer has a glass transition temperature of about -90.degree.C. to 70.degree.C. and a weight average molecular weight of about 500-30,000.
