    摘要: An optical system has an aperture through which virtual and real-world images are viewable along a viewing axis. The optical system may be incorporated into a head-mounted display (HMD). By modulating the length of the optical path along an optical axis within the optical system, the virtual image may appear to be at different distances away from the HMD wearer. The wearable computer of the HMD may be used to control the length of the optical path. The length of the optical path may be modulated using, for example, a piezoelectric actuator or stepper motor. By determining the distance to an object with respect to the HMD using a range-finder or autofocus camera, the virtual images may be controlled to appear at various distances and locations in relation to the target object and/or HMD wearer.

An exemplary system may be configured to: (1) at a computing system associated with a head-mountable display, receive head-movement data indicative of head movement; (2) use one or more context signals to determine a first activity associated with the head-mountable device; (3) determine a head-movement interpretation scheme corresponding to the first activity; (4) apply the determined head-movement interpretation scheme to determine input data corresponding to the received head-movement data; and (5) provide the determined input data for at least one function of the head-mountable display.

The wearable computing system may receive information associated with a gaze location of an eye of the user and determine that the gaze location substantially matches a predetermined location of the content personalized to the user on the HMD and authenticate the user.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to proximity sensing for wink detection. An illustrative method includes receiving data from a receiver portion of a proximity sensor. The receiver portion is disposed at a side section of a head-mountable device (HMD). When a wearer wears the HMD, the receiver portion is arranged to receive light reflected from an eye area of the wearer, the proximity sensor detects a movement of the eye area, and the data represents the movement. The method includes determining that the data corresponds to a wink gesture. The method also includes selecting a computing action to perform, based on the wink gesture. The method further includes performing the computing action.

    摘要: A wearable computing device or a head-mounted display (HMD) may be configured to track the gaze axis of an eye of the wearer. In particular, the device may be configured to observe movement of a wearer's pupil and, based on the movement, determine inputs to a user interface. For example, using eye gaze detection, the HMD may change a tracking rate of a displayed virtual image based on where the user is looking. Gazing at the center of the HMD field of view may, for instance, allow for fine movements of the virtual display. Gazing near an edge of the HMD field of view may provide coarser movements.
