摘要： The present invention is directed to a search engine for a video recorder. One embodiment of the present invention operates in an environment that includes one or more set-top boxes connected to or integrated within one or more output devices. The set-top boxes are used to transfer shows from a broadcast input source to one or more types of storage devices and to play back the shows from the storage devices to the output devices, either in a delayed-live fashion or at a later time of the user's choosing. The set-top box displays a graphical user interface (GUI), which gives the user the ability to watch and/or record timeslot based programming, to order on-demand programming, and to playback previously recorded shows that reside on a local or remote storage device. A search engine is added to the GUI that lets the search for shows and receive results in an enhanced manner.

摘要： Technologies for cloud-based media search and editing include a video editor configured to build a media query and associate the media query with a dynamic content slot of a media program. When generating video output based on the media program, the video editor transmits the media query to a cloud analytics server and receives 5 search results identifying one or more media clips produced by a number of mobile computing devices. The video editor may display a list of clips for selection by the user or may automatically include one of the clips in the output. The cloud analytics server transmits an acceptance policy defining criteria for acceptable media, based on the media query, to the mobile computing devices. The mobile computing devices configure 10 capture settings according to the acceptance policy and may display a user interface to assist the user in capturing acceptable media. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The additional content stream may be generated so as to provide the user with a dynamic vantage point within a live event by switching between the selected portions of the particular ones of the multiple content streams, possibly as a function of input received from user equipment operated by the user.

摘要： A system is provided for the provision of DVR playlists. DVR playlists allow for consumers to manage the availability, arrangement, and type of content to be provided from a DVR such that content items are intelligently added, arranged, played back, and deleted via the DVR playlist. Aspects of the system allow playlists to be created by the system, by the consumer, and in co-operation between the system and the consumer. Content items may also be provisioned, such that a DVR playlist limits playback, while still providing variety and consumer choice. Aspects of the system allow for various seed attributes to affect which content items are automatically chosen to comprise the DVR playlist. Content items may be shared amongst user accounts under a subscriber account so that space on a DVR is more efficiently provisioned.

A user can select objects via outlined, highlighted, or otherwise visually identified objects in a video frame, the selecting enabled by associated search metadata.

Another aspect includes receiving a user query associated with dialog in a program, searching the media database and presenting a listing of results, receiving a user selection or program from their listing and transmitting at least one frame, a portion of associated subtitle track and prompts for ordering the program.
