摘要： A spring-incorporated flat type terminal structure which can be manufactured efficiently and which requires only a small space for engagement or disengagement of the male and female parts of the terminals of the connector. A flat type female terminal of electrically conductive material has a terminal engaging section and a wire connecting section. The terminal engaging section is substantially in the form of a rectangular box and has a terminal accommodating chamber with a terminal inserting inlet opened in one side. The terminal inserting inlet has four locking grooves at the four corners of the inserting inlet to hold spacer springs. The wire connecting section has an engaging hole into which the conductor of an electrical wire W is inserted. Hence, by inserting the engaging piece of a flat type male connector into the terminal engaging section from above, the wire of the flat type female connector can be electrically connected to the wire of the flat type male connector.

摘要： A watertight type shielded connector includes a housing assembly and a terminal assembly. The housing assembly includes a housing and a shield element molded integrally with the housing. The terminal assembly includes a resilient plug fitted over the sheath of a shielding wire. The shielding wire has a distal end thereof connected to a terminal. The terminal assembly also includes a conductor in electrical contact with the shielding material of the shielding wire. Upon inserting the terminal assembly into the housing assembly, the conductor electrically engages the shield element of the housing assembly so that the conductor establishes electric continuity between the shield element of the housing assembly and the shielding material of the terminal assembly while at the same time the plug fits to the fitting bore of the housing assembly so that the terminal assembly engages the housing assembly in a watertight relation. The shield element of the housing assembly serves to shield the terminal. The plug is formed with a first projection extending all around the outer surface of the plug to form a closed loop and a second projection extending all around the inner surface of the plug to form a closed loop, the first projection fitting to the fitting bore of the housing assembly and the second projection fitting over the sheath of the shielding wire. The plug and conductor may take the form of a single component made of a conductive rubber.

Hence, the guide member of the male connector is engaged with a guide hole of the female connector while abutting against the wall surface, on the side of the rotating shaft, of the guide hole, which makes it possible to decrease the dimension L1 of the guide hole in the direction perpendicular to the rotating axis. That is, the connector device can be miniaturized.

To electrically connect the connector portions on the upstream apparatus side to the connector portions on the downstream apparatus side, the connector portions on the downstream apparatus side are successively fitted into the connector portion receiving cavities in the direction at a right angle relative to extension of the terminals starting with the connector portion receiving cavity at the lowest stage. Whether or not the connector portions on the downstream apparatus side are correctly fitted into the connector portion receiving cavities at the lower stages is detected based on the fact that the connector portion on the downstream apparatus side at the upper stage is correctly fitted into the corresponding connector portion receiving cavity.

The female connector includes a female terminal having a wire retaining portion and a fitting hole extending in a direction perpendicular to a direction of extension of a wire, and a housing containing the female terminal therein and having a notch which is formed at a front end portion thereof, the notch opening in a direction of the opening of the fitting hole. When the fitting contact tongue is inserted and fitted in the fitting hole, the notched front end portions of the two connectors are connected together, thereby reducing a deviation of the two wires from each other in a direction perpendicular to the axes of the two wires.
