摘要: An optical cable has a plurality of optical fibers. The optical fibers are contained in fiber containing cavities of chamber elements. Each chamber element has a bottom part and a pair of side wall parts, which defines a fiber containing cavity. The individual chamber elements containing the optical fibers are assembled around a thickening layer in an S-Z strand. Each side wall part is formed such that its thickness gradually decreases from its base end portion toward free end portion. Also, the thickness of the bottom part is greater than the thickness of each side wall part.

摘要: In an optical cable according to the present invention, a grooved spacer has a plurality of grooves in its circumference, and the cutting direction of the grooves is inverted at predetermined periods. Optical fibers are received in the respective grooves. On the circumference of the grooved spacer, a linear member is provided around the grooved spacer along the longitudinal direction of the optical cable at a predetermined period. The linear member is fixed to the grooved spacer by welding or bonding in the portions where they touch the outer circumferences of the grooved spacer so as to restrain the optical fibers. The linear member restraining the optical fiber to be taken out are cut in positions above the groove in which the optical fiber is received so that the required optical fiber can be taken out.

摘要: This specification describes spinal stabilization devices that may be introduced into the spine via surgical procedures. In particular, this specification describes an inter-spinous process spacer having a core chosen, in one variation, to provide a kyphotic or lordotic angle to the device. The specification also describes systems including the described devices and methods of introducing the devices and systems into the spine to provide effective stabilization.

摘要: A device for accessing and guiding at least one fixation device to a spine may include a distal portion configured to fit in a facet of the spine and a proximal portion extending from the distal portion. The proximal portion may be detachable from the distal portion and may be hollow or solid. A system for accessing and guiding at least one fixation device to a spine may include a distal portion configured to fit in a facet of the spine, a proximal portion extending from the distal portion, and a slidable guide device for sliding over the facet guide device to guide at least one instrument to the spine.

摘要: An image forming apparatus including an image bearing member; a developing device for developing with toner an electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing member; a humidity sensor for providing information on ambient humidity of said image forming apparatus; and a controller for controlling a parameter on a density of an image to be formed on a recording material on the basis of pieces of the information provided by the humidity sensor at different times. The controller is capable of controlling the parameter so that, when a first image forming job is ended at an ending time and then a second image forming job is executed after a lapse of a predetermined time from the ending time and in a period in which a detection result of the humidity sensor changes and then is constant, a difference between a first set value which is the parameter set during formation of a final image in a first image forming job and a second set value which is the parameter set during image formation on a first sheet in the second image forming job after the lapse of the predetermined time from the ending time, increases with an increase of proportion of a time in which the developing device is driven during the lapse of the predetermined time.
