    摘要: A scanning apparatus has a luminous flux deflector and a single f.theta. lens. The deflector deflects a convergent luminous flux on a scanned surface at a uniform angular velocity. The f.theta. lens is arranged between the deflector and the scanned surface. The f.theta. lens is bi-convex in a main scanning direction and is made of a material having a refractive index of at most 1.6. One surface of the f.theta. lens in a main scanning direction is so curved that a radius of curvature in the main scanning direction A decreases as an angle of view in the main scanning direction increases.

    摘要: A scanning optical system has a deflector and a scanning lens. A convergent beam is deflected at a uniform angular velocity by the deflector. The scanning lens forms the scanned beam into an image on a scanned surface to scan the surface substantially at a uniform velocity. The scanning lens includes from the side of the deflector a negative lens element and at least one more lens element. The convergent beam is incident on a surface of the deflector which faces the deflector. The scanning lens fulfills predetermined conditions.

    摘要: A laser beam scanning device which has an improved cylindrical mirror in an optical path from a laser source unit to a polygonal mirror. The cylindrical mirror has a finite radius of curvature only in a sub scanning direction, and the radius of curvature in the sub scanning direction varies in a main scanning direction such that the closer to a laser beam incident side, the larger and the closer to a laser beam emergent side, the smaller.
