    摘要: A disk array system includes storage devices, a storage device control unit, a connection unit being connected with the storage device control unit, channel control units, a shared memory, and a cache memory. Each channel control unit includes a first processor of converting file data, received through a local area network outside of the disk array system to which the channel control units belongs, into block data and requesting storage of the converted data in the plurality of storage devices and a second processor of transferring the block data to the storage devices through the connection unit and the storage device control unit in response to a request given from the first processor and is connected with the connection unit and the local area network.

    摘要: A file is rapidly restored with minimal storage consumption when a file access request is made by the user. When file restoration takes place, a second server apparatus 3b transmits a directory image, which extends from the top directory to a predetermined lower level, of a directory image configured in a file system of a first server apparatus 3a at a date and time associated with a restoration destination directory among the data of files stored in a second storage apparatus 10b, to the first server apparatus 3a, and the first server apparatus 3a restores the directory image to a first storage apparatus 10a. If a request is sent from the first server apparatus 3a, the second server apparatus 3b reads an additional directory image from the second storage apparatus 10b and transmits the image to the first server apparatus 3a.

    摘要: A remote file server managing a remote storage device and a local file server managing a local storage device are coupled to a communication network (e.g. the Internet). The local file server (A) replicates a file in the local storage device to the remote file server and, (B) if a first condition is satisfied, manages the replicated file which is the file from which the data is replicated as a migration target file. The local file server, even if the (B) is completed, does not delete the migration target file from the local storage device and, if the second condition is satisfied, deletes the migration target file from the local storage device.
