摘要: Some embodiments of the invention provide a forwarding element (e.g., a switch, a router, etc.) that has one or more data plane, message-processing pipelines with key-value processing circuits. The forwarding element's data plane key-value circuits allow the forwarding element to perform key-value services that would otherwise have to be performed by data compute nodes connected by the network fabric that includes the forwarding element. In some embodiments, the key-value (KV) services of the forwarding element and other similar forwarding elements supplement the key-value services of a distributed set of key-value servers by caching a subset of the most commonly used key-value pairs in the forwarding elements that connect the set of key-value servers with their client applications. In some embodiments, the key-value circuits of the forwarding element perform the key-value service operations at message-processing line rates at which the forwarding element forwards messages to the data compute nodes and/or to other network forwarding elements in the network fabric.

摘要: A device, method and system is directed to fast data storage on a block storage device. New data is linearly written to an empty write block. A location of the new data is tracked. Meta data associated with the new data is linearly written. A lookup table may be updated based in part on the meta data. The new data may be read based the lookup table configured to map a logical address to a physical address.

摘要: Methods, systems and computer program products for hibernating a computing cluster. An information lifecycle manager facility (ILM) is invoked to carry out movement of data from the hypervisor of a node of a computing cluster to a different storage location. Multiple nodes of the computing cluster can be hibernated until the entire computing cluster has been hibernated. The ILM observes a replication factor of the computing cluster to suppress saving multiple copies of data. A hibernation object comprising state information of a node is stored in a network-accessible storage location. The hibernation object is accessed in response to an instruction to initiate restoration of all or parts of the computing cluster. The hibernation object can be stored using first cloud computing storage infrastructure and later, can be restored to a different cloud computing infrastructure. Upon restoration, the hibernated cluster has the same state as of the time of hibernation.

摘要: Content is captured and archived at an archive center (AC) and, depending upon records management (RM) policy, is managed by the AC or under RM control by a content server (CS). Both the AC and CS may be part of an enterprise content management system. The AC provides a user-friendly interface through which retention zones may be defined, and functionality for applying RM policy. The functionality can be triggered via a specific content property or through a retention zone under RM control. The RM control can be turned on or off from within the AC using the user-friendly interface. Archived content is not moved or duplicated. Rather, metadata and a link to the storage location are sent to the CS which, in turn, creates a content server document that is linked to the archived content. Only a portion of archived content is exposed to the CS through the AC.

摘要: An information processing system that is capable of accurately predicting a lifetime of a semiconductor device that carries out communications related to reading and writing of data from and to a storage device. The information processing system has an image forming apparatus having a nonvolatile memory and a first controller that controls reading and writing of data from and to the nonvolatile memory. The information processing system also has a server that monitors a lifetime of the first controller. The server has a receiving I/F that receives information indicating a communication data size of reading and writing of data from and to the nonvolatile memory, and a second controller that predicts the lifetime of the first controller based on the received information indicating the communication data size.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are disclosed, including using a memory controller to track a maximum logical saturation over the lifespan of the memory device, where logical saturation is the percentage of capacity of the memory device written with data. A portion of a pool of memory cells of the memory device is reallocated from single level cell (SLC) static cache to SLC dynamic cache storage based at least in part on a value of the maximum logical saturation, the reallocating including writing at least one electrical state to a register, in some examples.

摘要: Method and apparatus for managing data in a cloud computing environment. In accordance with some embodiments, data updates are received to a multi-tier memory structure across a cloud network and stored as working data in an upper rewritable non-volatile memory tier of the memory structure. The working data are periodically logged to a lower non-volatile memory tier in the memory structure while a current version of the working data remain in the upper memory tier. The upper and lower memory tiers each are formed of rewritable memory cells having different constructions and storage attributes.

摘要: Example storage systems, storage devices, and methods provide proactive management of storage operations to, for example, beneficially minimize bottlenecking, latency, and other issues. An example system has a storage pool with a first storage device and a second storage device, and a processor configured to generate a storage request including a storage command, include a command processing time constraint in the storage request, send the storage request to the first storage device, and receive, from the first storage device, a proactive response including an estimation for an execution of the storage command by the first storage device based on the command processing time constraint. The processor may then select a fallback mechanism for executing the storage command based on the proactive response.

摘要: Policy entries are provided in a computer readable policy table, including transfer limitation entries for geolocations. In response to receiving first data, audit data entries are generated by a computer implemented process, including a storage geolocation where the first data was first archived, an origin geolocation indicating a geolocation of the first computer system from which the first data was sent for the archiving, and a transfer limitation entry for the first data, where the process generates the transfer limitation entry from at least one set policy entries for a geolocation. For a request to transfer the first data, a transfer limitation action is performed for by the computer implemented process based on the transfer limitation entry in a set of audit data entries for the first data.
